What I don't understand is, a parent's role is to groom their children and give them the best possible chance for survival and success in the world, why would you not encourage your children, at least at their young ages, to conform to traditional notions of gender? Regardless of what they may choose to do down the line, doesn't a male living as a male or a female living as a female give the child a leg up in terms of their future? Not even getting into the fact that a kid that young has no idea about fricking gender identification unless it's fed into by the parents.

It's funny because most center people I meet would likely be right of center were it not for their distaste for the religious right.
Well. Let me just say as an atheist. The religious right is a pimple on a gnat on a frog's arse next to these people and THESE people are a LOT more likely to try and ruin your life if you run afoul of their belief system.

It's disgusting. A 6 year old doesn't have the cognitive development to make these decisions and deal with that shite. His parents decided he was a girl based on their own agendas. They forced that decision on him. Now we've got a male child who's had "you're a girl, you're a girl" drilled into his head during his developmental years. They've fricked this kid up.

There is a transgender high school student in our community in Mississippi. She wants to be a he.
It has gotten its way on everything because the school district is scared to cross it. The amazing thing is that it is popular. Was in the running for homecoming laurels. While there are your typical "Its a weirdo" folks, There are plenty of students who believe that this is "cool and brave."

These parents are idiots.
I would say that they are doing more harm than help for their child by using her to attempt to publicly leverage the school district. Especially considering they enrolled her in a charter school.
Not every school is the right fit for every child.

This is the issue. These parents are encouraging behaviors that can lead to seriously dangerous outcomes. If these kids wake up one day and realize their parents pushed them to do this shite while they were psychologically vulnerable, that has long term effects on their psyche. What happens is that moment happens after they're given hormone blockers for years or if, God forbid, they have a sex change operation in their teens. This is just plain child abuse.
If these parents were just saying "OK, this is something we'll just deal with and support", that would be one thing. But, when you're marching through the school with flags and chants, then it's quite obvious that this was thrust up the child by a mentally twisted activist parent(s).

The problem with their leftist solution to the suicide rate is that it doesn't consider transgenderism a mental illness that should be addressed and it will never be solved because of it. Instead, suicide rates will remain high and the blame will be placed on society for still being too "transphobic" regardless of how accepted it becomes. It's like institutionalized racism that gets used as an argument in order to ignore the cultural dysfunction that exists in black communities. Perpetual victim class created.

More? I can't even tell if there are any center minded Democrats left anymore. I mean, I'm sure there are but I never see or hear them speak out against the way left agenda and I don't hear anything about their own, more centrist agenda.

When I was that age I wanted to be a dog.
I'm guessing Colton's parents would've sent me outside to live in a dog house, eat dog food, and crap in the yard.
