re: Megyn Kelly to NBC

Is Kelly's success attributable to her time slot on Fox, what she brings to the table (via her talents and appearance) or a combination of the two?
She will go to NBC kick up some drama and dust, but never achieve the same level of notoriety. Just how I see it unfolding.
Additionally, Katie Couric received $15M a year from CBS....for what?

More likely they will parade her out there to show that "even republicans hate trump". No chance they let her actually give any conservative viewpoints.
Joe Scarabourough does really well in his timeslot and pitches conservative(ish) viewpoints. he certainly is as conservative as megyn.
I have no idea what megyn will do at MSNBC, but she will definitely be there to articulate a conservative viewpoint. Definitely a trump sucks one, but still a conservative viewpoint.

I'm pulling for Shep next. (Maybe I should phrase that differently )
He's probably the only other one that could be hired at another network. Name one place that would hire Hannity, O"reilly, etc. There isn't one. If they were to leave Fox they would most likely be unemployable.

Over a dozen years ago I started at Fox News in a job that would change my life. Now, I have decided to end my time at FNC, incredibly enriched for the experiences I've had. I have agreed to join NBC News, where I will be launching a new daytime show Monday through Friday, along with a Sunday evening news magazine program. I will also participate in NBC's breaking news coverage and its political and special events coverage.
While I will greatly miss my colleagues at Fox, I am delighted to be joining the NBC News family and taking on a new challenge. I remain deeply grateful to Fox News, to Rupert, Lachlan and James Murdoch, and especially to all of the FNC viewers, who have taught me so much about what really matters. More to come soon.
Happy New Year, and God bless.

I can't wait to watch this ratings catastrophe unfold
network tv isn't cable, and she no longer has o'reilly as a lead in...
hey she'll get paid and she'll be set for life, but I give this a year and a half tops before NBC regrets the shite out of this.
Hannity is probably jumping for joy, having her between him and o'reilly made his job more difficult because she would drop so many viewers. I don't know if they'll move him into that slot or if they'll move tucker in that spot, but either way...Hannity will be tested. we're going to find out if she was bleeding viewers or if audiences are as bored by sean Hannity as I am

She has a strong personality and is a sought after talent in the industry. She's too big at this point to be a puppet.
The strongest media players in the game have been puppets historically speaking and currently.
The Fox personalities are just recently starting to stop this trend. You should't have to wonder why highest rated hosts on Fox don't get offers from ABC, NBC, etc. You also shouldn't have to wonder why Kelly did get one....I'll give you a hint...it's because she'll play ball with the liberal agenda.
I'm not saying she'll vote liberal but she certainly won't talk up conservative policies, viewpoints, or opinions on NBC that's for sure.

she will still give her Republican views on her show.
She'll probably only do it once or twice and keep her job.

network tv is the fricking show. now on msnbc I think it's a home run hire if she can still draw an audience comparable to maddow's or larger, but she's not bringing 2.3 million viewers with her. fox has a larger built in audience and o'reilly isn't her lead in...he's the highest rated cable news show and it's not even close

The daytime program would be a mix of news, interviews and panel-like discussions covering a range of issues, not only government and politics. The Sunday night program, which is yet to be named, would provide Ms. Kelly with a continued hand in hard news.
Sounds like she's gonna be competing with The View and 60 Minutes.

She will quickly realize that her popularity was due to her being on Fox and not what she brought to Fox. I'm sure she will realize that when her ratings take a dive, along with NBC.

The NBC News chairman, Andrew Lack, wooed Ms. Kelly away from Fox News by offering her a triple role in which she will host her own daytime news and discussion program, anchor an in-depth Sunday night news show and take regular part in the network’s special political programming and other big-event coverage.
Anyone that watches Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday can see a real journalist and how it is done. She is trying to be the next Barbara Walters, but she really does not seem to have the presentation that is challenging and not shrill. The majority of the people that watched Kelly on Fox will not follow her to NBC. I watched her only because she was positioned between O'Reilly and Hannity.

I have a feeling that Hannity and O'Reilly had better not count on raises when their contacts are up since no other networks will bid for their services. Smart move on Fox, they can keep their current hosts at reduced or current rates.
I mean where else can Hannity and O'Reilly go? The other networks won't get in a bidding war for them and conservative talking heads are a dime a dozen. It doesn't take talent to yell conservative talking points.

I think she will bring viewers over, but probably not that many. I think its a good pick up for NBC.
who knows with that kind of cash layout, they may drop her on today show or other NBC vehicles, fill in for lestrer holt?

I want to wash her with my tongue. I can't help it. I know she's a count, but I bet she's just a filthy fricking whore in the sack.

I think its a good pick up for NBC
I guess it depends, Anderson cooper gets over $10 million a year and his ratings are garbage. I guarantee you turner regrets paying him that kind of money for the return that they get.
Stephen Colbert is the poster child for networks that throw money at cable stars. it's usually a bad fricking idea. could've just lured away andy cohen form nbc (bravo) and let him try and build a show. would've cost less and by now I imagine cohen would be a ratings success. he certainly wouldn't be losing to a guy who goes on an hour later.

She is pretty savvy, and very career oriented. I doubt she would make the move for a shittier job. NBC has a lot more options to reach the end consumer than fox, with nbc news being the big one but also a popular morning show, two cable channels, lots of sports, etc.
The more I think about this, I bet she ends up on Today.
