Medicare Advantage plans comparisions

Soon I'll need to go onto Medicare Pat B so I've been trying to decide between the different Advantage plans. I live in East Feliciana Parish so choices are limited. I've narrowed it down to two companies, Peoples Health and Humana Choice.
Anybody use either one of these? If so are you satisfied with their services?

I've been on Medicare Advantage Plans for several years. If you have narrowed your choice to these 2, compare copays and deductibles. Also look at their Drug Formulary and see what tiers your drugs fall in. Could make a big difference in your drug copays. Medicare CENTER FOR MEDICARE SERVICES (CMS) rates companies by level of patient satisfaction so check out their ratings.

Your maximum out of pocket expense is scary on a Medicare Adv plan. Supplements cover 100% of everything. You will need a Part D stand alone Rx plan.

Humana for me, uj. They inundate you with calls/paper 'caring', and I am satisfied with their service. However, beginning they held $104 out of SS check, and then this year...upped the fee by $36. And tightened up on payments for preventative tests. So....who knows how/where it goes from here. The next few weeks will determine your choice in the future; mine as well...and all of us for that matter. Good luck.

I believe my Dad has Humana but he lives in Jefferson parish. Was recently in the hospital. Bill was about $22000, his cost about $200. FWIW.
ETA: I am not knowledgeable of these Part B, C and D or supplements. I am not of age to be worrying about that.

Medicare supplements vary in price according to coverage you want. They can be cheap with very little coverage or expensive with almost 100% coverage. You will also have to buy a stand-alone Part D Prescription Drug Plan and they also vary in price according to how much you want to pay for your part of the prescriptions. I prefer Medicare Advantage Plans that include Part D drug coverage, but beware - not all Advantage Plans offer Part D as part of their package.

If you have access to Humana Gold Plus, I can recommend it. My parents have been on it. (My dad passed away last year at 86 Y.O) I think my mother pays $40 a month and they have very little out of pocket for anything. My dad was in the hospital for about 10 days and his out of pocket TOTAL was $1,000 or $1500.

Medicare Adv Plans are HMOs bro. They can really screw you over if they want. They often do not cover your doctors.

I have people's health, nothing major as for a illnesses very satisfied so far. I have a ct scan scheduled. And my out of pocket will be 180 bucks

Humana Gold in BR has been very good plan for my parents and mother-in-law. Has covered multiple old people illnesses and surgeries with little out of pocket

Seems like Humana Gold Plus has the best/most benefits for the money. Getting information from these folks is like pulling teeth. The also come recommended (no officially) by a couple of the clinics I use.
Neither Baton Rouge Family Medical Center (owned by B.R. General) or Baton Rouge Clinic accept Peoples Health.

Humana has been very good for me after my stroke. I'd be totally fricked without it. The prescription coverage " donut hole" is kind of a bitch, though.

Mine has been fine. Haven't been to a doctor yet who wasn't covered.

These are good, but can be pricey, And, from what I understand, your medical history can make a significant difference in price, whem it comes to supplements.
