The cafe’s name, “Me So Hungry”, is supposedly a parodistic attempt at fusing the movie quote “Me so horny” from the film “Full Metal Jacket” along with a general hip-hop theme that allegedly appropriates Black culture.
for fricks sakes this is grasping for straws.

they probably lost about 4 customers over this given the state's demographic.

And gained hundreds more. Net positive

I've been there. That place is good.
I know that place. It's the home of:

The 'Hey Boy', a chocolate sundae with golden straws of spun sugar.

Also...

The 'Backseat Burger', a burger so big you'll need to be bussed out of here when you're done.

And for dessert...

Brownies!

Many years ago, I worked with a woman who's last name was Sohaney. She was expecting her first child (a girl) and was asking everyone in the office for name suggestions.

I said "Mia".

Back to the story in the OP: how could anyone, even Iowans, start a "family friendly" eatery and call it "Me So Hungry"?

The racist themes found in a new eatery in Iowa are gaining a lot of negative publicity from social media.

and the news media wonders why most of the country is sick of their agenda driven "reporting" and fake news.

That opening line immediately demonizes the restaurant and takes the side of SJW's.

I think it's brilliant.

When the patrons leave the restaurant, the receptionist/greeter or whomever could say:

"ME LOVE YOU LONG TIME!" and blow kisses.

Owners should hold firm.

Right in Central City. Pretty sure it's owned by middle easterns. It's always packed too.

I'm pretty sure it's owned by Skip of UTP. Only know this because some streamer got into some trouble there not too long ago.

Here's a story.

BTW, can we get over cultural appropriation? I mean, they can't even play hip hop music?

The foundation of hiphop is based on appropriating from others.

This term needs to die a brutal death. People need to slap anyone who uses this term with any seriousness.

The restaurant can have the Chinese Dance Band "The Slants" to open for them.

And watch the Washington Redskin play football on a loop.

They should go with "Miso Hungry"...which is still Asian (Japanese), but it would be confusing to a lot of folks.

We've got a restaurant nearby called "Pho Kim." I don't think most locally realize how you actually pronounce Pho which makes it even funnier.
