Pressure is mounting on Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) as he lays the groundwork to do what was unthinkable just a year ago: endorsing former President Trump for president in 2024.

Trump’s victory in South Carolina on Saturday further strengthened his grip on the GOP and has put McConnell in a bind. He held out as long as he could before it emerged Monday that his and Trump’s teams are discussing a possible endorsement.

A show of support would be the culmination of the pair’s roller coaster history and puts the longtime GOP leader in a spot he likely did not imagine as he watched Trump’s ignominious exit from Washington.

“No, I don’t think it would be easy,” one Senate Republican told The Hill about McConnell potentially taking that step. “But he’s a pragmatist and at the end, he’d rather have a Republican or Republican policies.”

“He’ll look past a load of shite to improve the path to the majority,” a second Senate GOP member said. “That’d be the one reason why Mitch would rise above principle and do the politically expedient thing … because he is hellbent on getting the majority, and he’ll make personal sacrifices for that.”

It's kind of funny to think that only the poles think that Mitch might not endorse Trump.

Mitch is a gangster who primarily cares about expanding (the real) GOP's power in DC.

Why does Trump need McConnell's endorsement? I'd tell Mitch to go frick himself.

Even though my pops leaned left, he loved Mitch's ability to run the swamp.

But if you’re not using that status to help U.S. citizens — and we KNOW you won’t — then frick you, Mitch.

I don't think a McConnell endorsement helps Trump, probably hurts Trump with some voters, therefore I expect McConnell to endorse Trump.

Senate and House Republicans are getting ready to shite the bed yet again when it comes to majorities in both chambers. They are going to be in control, and act like dumbasses and frick up all the momentum as usual.

There's barely a dime's worth of difference between the establishment GOP and the Democrat Party.

Donald Trump is anathema to both of those 'organizations', much less the administrative state.

He chose the Republican ticket because -at this moment- it was and is the only path into the Whitehouse for an outsider.

Long after we're gone, the story will be written that acknowledges DJT was/is the only true outsider that broke through the calcified political barriers to entry which are set against anyone who refuses to capitulate to the self-serving imperatives of the ruling classes.

He's William Jennings Bryant, Teddy R. and the Bull Moose Party, and Ross Perot rolled up into an uber billigerent populist that the people's will finally pushed to the winner's circle.

That is his and his voters' only crime and one for which his opponents will forever seek retribution...

Mitch is in touch with Koch Brothers to make sure they have all the pieces in place for the election of non-MAGA Senators and Congressmen.

Yes, Koch quit Haley and will now throw their energy at electing a non-MAGA Congress.

Frig Mitch and Koch!!

Mitch actually prefers being in the minority. He has amassed a fortune this way.

If there's any word that should be definitely associated with Mitch McConnell, it's "principled."

Never forget that the republicans had the house and the senate for the first two years of trump’s term. He would have signed anything. They could have actually implemented the conservative agenda they claim to support. Instead, they did jack shite, and trump had to implement almost everything he ‘accomplished’ via executive order. All of which could be undone with the stroke of a democrat president’s pen, which Biden promptly did.

That’s when the GOPe lost me forever. They proved that their heart really isn’t in the fight, and it’s why the party is falling apart. They betrayed every conservative who ever donated a dime or voted for those snakes.

They didn’t have to like trump, but they could have used him if they truly wanted to steer the country back to the middle or right from obamas hard left. They didn’t, because they were complicit.

frick Mitch, Ryan, and that whole group.
