The problem with his argument is that we don't have a free press in America. We have an advocacy press. We have a partisan press. The press chose sides a long time ago. 90+% of them are in the bag for the Democrats.

Yes, and McCain is part of the same uniparty so he's on their side anyway.

You know what McCain's problem is? He's jealous. He ran the most kiss arse, don't attack my opponent, vote for me because I have a history of fricking over my own party steaming pile of shite campaign in my lifetime and Repub voters told him to frick off and sat at home. Trump ran a campaign that was a total 180 of the McCain strategy, he took on all comers, hit back, got nasty like his opponent with no apologies and he won. He exposed McCain as the biggest fraud, pile of shite candidate I can recall and McCain hates him for it. So McCain does what a bitch does and goes over seas to trash him because he's too big of a pussy to do it to Trump's face because he knows Trump will kneecap his arse.

You know how else dictators get started John? Perpetual war and unchecked surveillance. You support both of those.

If attacking the press is bad for america, what is going overseas and bashing the president?

I guess the left doesn't think that McCain is the most gangerous racist in america anymore.

I respect McCain for telling it like it is.

McCain is staring down the twilight of his woefully uneventful and unimpactful tenure as a politician.
Yeah. Guy was nominated by his party for president and you're still bitching about him almost 9 years later.

Definitely a low-impact career.

Attacks on the press, McCain said, are “how dictators get started.”
So by this standard, as Obama and the Leftistas relentlessly attack FOX news, Drudge, Breitbart and etc. they were/are really a budding fascist dictatorship.

In a vacuum sure. In relation to Trump's handling of the media, he's way off base.

My first thought is, How much money do his donors stand to lose if Trump can implement his trade and immigration policies?

Yes, we need a free and critical press, but that is not what we have or have had. We have a press that suppressed nearly every scandal during the Obama administration and barely mentioned any of Hillary's during the campaign.

Remember when they showed that the network news spent a few seconds each on some major news story and instead spent like several minutes each night with pieces on Pokémon Go? Is that the press that we want?

That's not what Trump wants, either.

I would love to call out a silver alert for him. It would be a great troll.
