Why not try to be just a little honest for once?

He gets drunk, gets in his car and drives the wrong way on a one-way downtown New Orleans street, hits and injures a pedestrian then flees the scene of the crime without attempting to help the guy he ran over and then tries to use the "do you know who I am?" tactic when the police catch up to him.

Queen Mary did a fine job raising her son....

OMG!

Layabout PWN3d . . . Brutally.

Nothing left to do there but shake Russian's hand, and congratulate him on playing a "good game".

I'm happy for Landrieu. I want her clout to remain in the Senate working for the great state of Louisiana and its constituents.

Her voting history proves otherwise. Namely the ACA vote. She knowingly voted against her constituents.

$2.5 million home in D.C.,

Is this class warfare, or is it just appalling for somebody to live in the city where they work?

I think the attempt was to point out if she could afford a $2.5M home in DC, then she could have bought a $2M home in DC and a $500K home in La. Don't agree, but that was the gist.

You mean like Sen Pat Roberts running for reelection from Kansas but doesn't have a home there?

Where are the tar and feathers?

Honestly, I hope for her sake that is not the best she can do.

Don't worry. I'm sure it's worth a lot more than it is actually valued. She is after all, the Shadow Senator from DC.

What difference does it make? She would have spent $500k on a home she doesn't live in. It only matters if you're looking for a facade.

Roberts was lambasted. It was on Sunday talk shows, etc.

Probably not an issue to own a home where you work. It's probably highly advisable for a politician to keep a home in their home State, as one of the guys running for Senate here is finding out.

It is amazing how people like Obama and Landrieu swerve into these great land deals isn't it?

She and husband bought the land in 1997. The land has gone from 236K in value to 495K in 17 years.

Making $15,000 a year is her great land deal? Mmmmk

The Senate only spends on average about 160 days in session. The better question is how much time that the Senate is not in session is Landrieu spending in Louisiana. If she really is spending the majority of non-session time in the state living in hotels, friends houses or her parents, then good for her, but I would like to see the evidence of this.

Lambasted? Really?

You're the one who said:

With ML...crickets.

Where is all this "lambasting" of Roberts as compared to Landrieu? Let's look:

quote:

Pat Roberts doesn't have his own home in Kansas
The Washington Post
Feb 7, 2014 - Updated at 6:56 p.m. with a statement from Roberts's office. Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) is registered to vote at the address of Dodge City ...

Hmmm... this has been an issue in his race since February.... where's the lambasting? How many threads here on the poliboard have we had on Roberts? Who here knew that Roberts faced the same challenge as Landrieu? Who here knew who Roberts was?

Problem isn't the price it's the location! Bitch lives in DC which DQs her from running for senate but she throws out a lie that she "lives with her Mom while in LA (aka stays there during a visit)" and everyone just accepts it and moves on. There was a legal challenge to this about a. Week ago which was turned in prior to the deadline for challenges to her qualification but the AG said he "didn't have time to investigate"??? It was in before the deadline!! Why have a deadline?

Contradicting yourself there. If this is an issue, then by definition his opponents are lambasting him for it.

About as many as we've had on Begich or Shaheen or Merkley or Franken or any other Senator who has few or no constituents on this board.

quote:

Who here knew who Roberts was?

Exactly. So it's not exactly clear what point you're trying to make here.

Only lib logic could lead someone to the conclusion that it's a double standard for a Louisiana forum to call out a Louisiana politician while ignoring a Kansas politician.

That's disingenuous. Session is basically year-around. There's only two months out of the year where they have 2 consecutive weeks off. August is the only month they aren't in session at all.

Being in session isn't the only time Senators work. The week-long "breaks" they get are often spent working on bills, gathering info for committees, and wheeling and dealing. I know because I watch House of Cards.

Here's a link to the schedule: LINK

They bought in a crappy neighborhood when property values were low, re-habbed the house acting as their own contractors, and wound up with a nice asset, probably the biggest one in their portfolio. They sure didn't pay anywhere near $2.5 million for it.
