Where do you think fed dollars come from? The federal money tree? Is there a unicorn in Barry's office shitting out gold bricks that funds this country?
If we hop in bed with this, then we will be hit twice by Obamacare. You lefties keep saying that the fed will fund the expansion 100%, but you ignore where the money comes from. Taxpayers. So by jumping in bed with the obamacare whore, we too are exposed to the disease. Sure there won't be any symptoms initially. Then 2 - 3 years down the road. You start itching. Then 5 years down the road you have a rash. You go to the doctor, and find out, that not only do you have gonorrhea, but you also have herpes. Your state is now paying for what the feds stopped paying for, and the feds are still collecting the same amount of taxes (you thought they'd reduce your rate because you weren't paying as much? lol).
Why on Earth do you think the feds aren't funding O'Care 100% the entire time? Because it can't sustain itself. It has to be propped up with state taxes too. And all of this money is coming from us, the taxpayers. Nothing is free. The 100% funding by the feds, is taxpayer money. Do you think the feds are going to reduce the taxes when they are only subsiding the expansion 90/85/80%? Hell no. So in 3-5 years, we are not only paying more federal taxes, we are paying more state taxes, because now the burden switches to the state.
Obamacare is a venereal disease. And you lefties are knowingly jumping in bed with this whore, for 3 minutes of pleasure, and ignore the lifetime of pain and discomfort it would bring.

But, we're not paying enough taxes? There is no spending problem. FORWARD DAMMIT.

Stupid people are easy to manipulate, stupid people want a hand out, and stupid people vote.
Why not pander to stupid?
Why not pander to stupid?

The liberals WANT everyone hooked on the gubment teat when it comes to healthcare. You see them as a whore, I see them as a drug pusher. Promises of 90% reimbursement blah blah blah. Get everyone addicted and turn them into sheep. Insidious.

surprised at the brazen stupidity of this woman.
Yeah, I'm just not seeing it.

Landrieu vowed to campaign aggressively against GOP foe Bill Cassidy’s opposition to the Medicaid expansion in the state
Well, duh, I don't think anyone would expect different, and I don't really see this as stupid much less brazen.
quote:
“That would be a real setback for the people of Louisiana, many of whom are working 30, 40, 50 hours a week but find themselves caught in the Jindal gap because the state refuses to expand health care options to the working poor at little to no expense,” Landrieu told me, referring to Governor Bobby Jindal’s opposition to the expansion
Again, this isn't exactly news, nor do I see it as necessarily stupid.
quote:
And even with all the law’s setbacks, we’re seeing benefits for thousands of people in Louisiana.”
I really don't see what's rolling on the floor funny about this. I may disagree with her here, but I don't think this is stupid.

This race will be won not on the president’s record, but on my record
Okay...
quote:
The Affordable Care Act won’t be the centerpiece of my campaign
I bet not, THAT would be dumb. She should run on the offshore revenues she helped secure.
quote:
The centerpiece will be my leadership and ability to deliver for the people of my state, no matter who the president is.”
That just looks like boiler plate political rhetoric. Nothing dumb, new, or doubling down.
Do I support Landrieu? No. Will I vote for Landrieu? No. Do I agree with all she said that's posted here? No. But your OP really has nothing, and doesn't indicate anyone doubling down on anything. It looks more like Landrieu trying to distance herself from an unpopular president, and at the same time take advantage of an unpopular governor of the opposition party.
In short, TJ, I think you're trying too hard.

I worked in a newborn nursery and that was considered the causality in those days and I doubt it has changed.
i was being p/dicky about your p/dickiness. it's actually "Down Syndrome" or sometimes called "Down's Syndrome." You corrected the OP's use of "Downs"--i digress. carry on.

I wish she'd do a commercial with Kermit the Frog.

In current dollars, yes. But that's not surprising given inflation.
In constant dollars and as a percentage of he GDP, it was no where near record revenues.
