Wow.....surprised at the brazen stupidity of this woman. Hopefully, I'm not equally surprised at the surprised at the Louisiana electorate in November. This woman needs to be shown the door in the worst way. Hopefully we can unite to run her arse out.

quote:

But in an interview today, Landrieu vowed to campaign aggressively against GOP foe Bill Cassidy’s opposition to the Medicaid expansion in the state, offered a spirited defense of the law — while acknowledging it has some problems — and even insisted he’d be at a “disadvantage” over the issue

What kind of lies and half truths can she cook up to do this?

quote:

“That would be a real setback for the people of Louisiana, many of whom are working 30, 40, 50 hours a week but find themselves caught in the Jindal gap because the state refuses to expand health care options to the working poor at little to no expense,” Landrieu told me, referring to Governor Bobby Jindal’s opposition to the expansion

Did I miss something and hospitals are now turning away folks?

quote:

And even with all the law’s setbacks, we’re seeing benefits for thousands of people in Louisiana.”

Lets see some hard numbers

quote:

“This race will be won not on the president’s record, but on my record…The Affordable Care Act won’t be the centerpiece of my campaign. The centerpiece will be my leadership and ability to deliver for the people of my state, no matter who the president is.”

Absolute bold faced lie....what in the hell has she done? She did a great job getting the moratorium lifted early? Gotten complete funding for coastal restoration? She is an Obama shill plain and simple...lets not be the cause the Republicans fail to take back the Senate. We can truly make obama a lame duck this fall.

I'm of the opinion that she doubles down on stupid every time she opens her mouth.

At best, it costs the State 7.1 billion over the next ten years. That's if the Feds (who can't afford it either) don't change the reimbursement rate. And no one knows what happens at the end on ten years.

That's hardly "little to no costs."

If someone is working 40 or 50 hours a week and doesn't have insurance, its their own damn fault.

This phrase must be in the latest DNC talking points. I've seen it several times over the last few days. I am, in NO way, a Bobby Jindal supporter. However, I do love the way he gets under liberals' skin.

Don't come in here with facts. According to an idiot that post on this board Jindal is killing people. Not because he doesn't want to hamper the state with debt but because he's republican and hates the poor.

Okay, seriously, what is the truth from an objective source? I'm not doubting you, but there are some knowledgeable, non-ideological, observers who suggest that it's stupid for the state to turn down the Medicaid expansion deal. 100% funded by the feds initially, then 90% thereafter.

I'm asking the question honestly. What are the numbers?

The state put out a pretty thorough report this year crunching the numbers over the ten year haul. That's where the best-case-scenario 7.1 billion comes from.

Google Downs syndrome and see what comes up. Almost every one in my family(MD after their names) is in some form of medicine as their jobs why would they lie or be misinformed on the subject. I worked in a newborn nursery and that was considered the causality in those days and I doubt it has changed.

Its as if the "Feds" are some altruistic, Third Party group with its own wealth.

JEEBUS.

That is like saying to my wife "We can't afford that car" and her responding..."It won't cost US anything. We will take the money out of the SAVINGS account!" (Note: My wife would never say anything this stupid)

VOR, on the other hand, says.."it won't cost the State (us) anything. The FEDS will pay for it (bigger US)

Taking the Medicaid money is like signing a contract with another party saying they will pay for most of an item, but they can change the terms at any time they want and not fulfill their obligation and increase yours. However, you are required to pay your share and abide by the contract and any changes the other party makes to it.

Who would be dumb enough to enter into such a contract?

Well said, and don't forget if you start doing something the Feds don't necessarily agree with, then they can use that money to extort you.

Not to mention the personal costs of everyone now having to pay Obamacare taxes.

Heard on tv news yesterday that the federal government collected more in tax revenues last year than any other year in history.
