If only some of you knew as much about the Bible as you think you do.

It was a simple task that could have proven that you weren't making shite up. You failed because you were making shite up.

I'd put my knowledge up against anyone on this board. Hell, I've offered to do a live, neutral discussion with a few people in the past. Oddly, they went away shortly after.

I recently took one of those online religion quizzes. I scored 98%, which the quiz said put me in the top 1/10 of a percent of those taking the quiz.

I am fairly comfortable with my factual knowledge of the Bible.

Not everything those in the Bible (except for Jesus) did was commendable or even tolerable. The Bible is a story about sinners in need of salvation and how God accomplished that through His Son, the only one who obeyed the law of God perfectly.

See above post. I'd prefer not to bury you in bible verses as religious talk is not allowed here.

The point is...family values as set down by the bible evolved....since that is your main complaint about open marriages...what is thought of as "normal" has and will continue to change.

"Traditional" family units have changed quite a bit even in the last 100 or so years and will in the next.

I wouldn't judge a book by it's cover if I was you.

I was raised a catholic...converted to southern baptist as a teen and finished out my religious education as a methodist ;-)

Open it!

The issue is economic. The economics are devastating, particularly for women and kids.

So please do open the can.

The two aren't mutually exclusive.

It is possible to have beliefs that aren't extreme either direction that don't compliment each other.

I know this is difficult for you to believe because all your views come out of the same well.

Wife just told me of a coworker who is now getting a divorce from his wife over this. Apparently the couples were going to meet up with the other partner on separate occasions, the coworker and the other wife backed out but his wife and the other husband did the deed and now they have left their partners for each other.

Yeah, healthy. Both have kids

yeah, it’s a shame that some of these people do have children and expose them to this garbage

From what I've gathered, the average "open marriage" is pretty much about the sex. Random guys aren't coming over to spend the evening hanging out with the kids.

If the kids are being exposed to sex than that's no good no matter what kind of relationship you're in.
