Okay, but you haven't said one word about what should happen to those involved in the scandal other than the women shouldn't be in the military. What about the men involved? Given that it already happened.

If they stole the pictures from the females in question, then they should face penalties. If they shared photos that were freely given to them, then I'm not ready to go down the road of that requiring some crazy punishment. That's no different than soldiers having and sharing a Playboy magazine. It's women who willingly posed for and shared nude pics.

The women aren't the problem in this situation

I could go either way with women in the military. I say give them the same requirements as men and if they pass, let them in. If they don't, keep them out. But a group of Marines fricking them over isn't their fault

No, it isn't a quota. I will say you do make a good point though.

well that makes it ok
It makes it an inescapable reality. Whether or not you or I think it's okay is irrelevant.

Conduct Unbecoming , whether Officer or Enlisted, is nothing more than a degradation of standards. All of those identified should prosecuted under an Article 134, General Articles, convicted, sentenced, and summarily dishonorably discharged.

Not the same. Women in Playboy have consented to their pictures being shared. In Texas, if I take a picture of a girl I'm having sex with then post it online without her permission, that is illegal.

So why adjust PFT standards to accommodate women then if advancing a social agenda isn't the cause here?

And what punishment should they receive? How severe?
Whatever the book says man. Commanders tend to have a lot of leeway on punishment normally but I imagine a case this big and with this much attention is going to pushed right to the top and those guilty will made examples out of.

I didn't say they were, but you can't take and share nude pics of yourself and expect them to never get out. It's lunacy.

Women shouldn't have a boat space in the combat arms and that is for sure. But they can still contribute effectively in most support roles.

Women ARE going to be in the Military. That is not going to change.

It isn't a social agenda imo. It's giving women who want to serve an easier pathway in because they want to serve. I see your point, but I think it's more about accommodating those servicewomen than it is about accommodating society.

Then you should look forward to a lifetime of being upset about this stuff. It's literally impossible to make go away.

It's policy blaming, not victim blaming.

What policy?

Women were allowed to join the military in WWI. That's 100 years ago. You're blaming a policy that existed AGES ago.

They weren't being raped in WWI
They weren't being raped in WWII
They weren't being raped in Korea

This is a modern era problem.

Just like basically everything

But you make it punishable and you punish the parties that wronged the women

Teen Brain Wired to Take Risks : Discovery News

The adolescent brain is extra sensitive to reward signals when pay-off for a risk is higher than expected.

THE GIST
The chemistry of the adolescent brain might explain why teenagers take so many risks.

Teenagers are extra sensitive to the rewarding feelings they get when something happens that's better than expected.

Understanding why teens act crazy might help channel them into more productive behaviors.

It's illegal (in Texas at least) to share then without consent. Can you please recognize the difference between a model who poses in a magazine is consenting to her photos being shared and a girl who texts someone a pic of her boobs?
