Let's see how limp dick the GOP is this time? Waste of my tax dollars... I'd rather vote for Mickey Mouse at this point.

If the numbers reported by the state aren't super high today, we maybe can have more confidence that the numbers aren't being manipulated.
Or just that JBE already knows that the legislature doesn't have the balls to do anything.

2 to 1 odds they don’t override JBE. Bunch of saber rattling do nothings who love handout money.

nah, that would just mean they are holding onto negative numbers closer to the next JBE press conference. Then, they can announce an increase in cases from the day prior and extend the shutdown. #tinfoilhat

Will this get schools back in session? A significant portion of your workforce had elementary school age kids that can’t just be left at home. And there aren’t enough licensed daycares to cover that demand. What’s the plan for families with 2 working parents and no childcare?

How do they manage during summer, when school is out?

The plan is - those people can organize their own affiars, the state of LA doesn't have to do it for them.

What do those same people do during the summer? Pawn their kids off on others every single day? Send them to camps for 3 months straight?

We get by with a mix of grandparents and summer camps.

Summer camps. Which are probably going to be closed. I'm not in LA but I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to make this work all summer. I can't work from home forever.

Conservative small business owners: “We need govt assistance. It’s fair, because the govt created this situation.”

Parents of small children: “We’d like to come back to work, but the childcare situation created by the government makes this impossible. Can this be considered in the plan to re-open.”

rmc: “muh handouts...”

This isn’t a request for a handout. This is part of good leadership. If you want to re-open, you’re going to need a labor force. It should absolutely be considered as a variable to all this re-opening discussion
