Fair point. It underscores another tragic flaw of smaller government proponents: even when they win, their big ideas can be wiped away with a stroke of a pen by a Progressive.

Oh, you lowered taxes? Here's an increase. Neutered a Department? Here are three new ones. Its an uphill battle...forever.

Meanwhile, programs begun by proponents of Federal power are damn near impossible to get rid of.
