All of you guys (both groups) use hyperbole in every thread. See I just did it too.
Not sure why people are claiming she is some standard bearer. She is an ugly chick who likes to get naked too much (of this we should all agree and sign a treaty to stop her future nudity).
Dunham gets more airplay than she deserves although she certainly deserves plenty because she created an HBO show. She seems to like to push buttons but so do many artists.

Yep. Actually, she's a good writer, although not my cup of tea. But this whole thing about her being some type of "heroine" or "standard bearer" is another example of Poliboard posters with too much time on their hands picking out shite that pisses them off.

VOR she may not be a "heroine of the left' , but she is or was considered the voice of a generation. Google Lena Dunham voice of a generation and read a few of the articles that are linked.
