Intelligence is correlated with a range of left-wing and liberal political beliefs. This may suggest intelligence directly alters our political views. Alternatively, the association may be confounded or mediated by socioeconomic and environmental factors. We studied the effect of intelligence within a sample of over 300 biological and adoptive families, using both measured IQ and polygenic scores for cognitive performance and educational attainment. We found both IQ and polygenic scores significantly predicted all six of our political scales. Polygenic scores predicted social liberalism and lower authoritarianism, within-families. Intelligence was able to significantly predict social liberalism and lower authoritarianism, within families, even after controlling for socioeconomic variables. Our findings may provide the strongest causal inference to date of intelligence directly affecting political beliefs.

And yet they can't figure out something as basic as men can't get pregnant. If that's the criteria for being "highly intelligent" then I'm cool with being called dumb by the "highly intelligent".

Higher intelligence is also associated with trust in authority, contempt for the less intelligent, compliance with the dictates of the “ expert” class, rejection of common sense, conformity of belief, nihilism, sociopathy, foolish beliefs in the nature of man, Utopianism etc.

This silliness has been a belief among liberals forever. Highly suspect approaches to addressing the issue flow from them over and over again. Yet, they have a few problems they have to avoid to maintain the absurdity.
1. How do they explain dominating overwhelmingly with the least educated, dumbest voting block on the planet?
2. How can the argue they're the smartest while also acknowledging that rising income is directly correlated to increased likelihood of voting Republican? Sure. Income isn't a perfect proxy for intelligence. That said, are they seriously going to try to argue that being dumber makes you more likely to earn greater incomes?
3. Often, they use education as a proxy for intelligence in their arguments but this is silly because sorry Sociology majors. Your masters in sociology doesn't make you smarter than the undergrad Physics major.
Now, to be fair. There does seem to be some correlation between the highest incomes, and high academic levels with being liberal. On this front, my own view is that quite often, even smart people simply cannot conceptualize how the average person acts in society. That's why you get college professors who genuinely don't see the connection between social welfare programs and pregnancy rates in certain groups. They'll often correctly point out get getting pregnant to get welfare and move out of mom's house is dumb. So they think, "who would do it"? Because they cannot fathom that yep, people WILL do it! They can't fathom being that dumb and, they never interact with such people.
