In all seriousness, after watching this video what would have been a reasonable use of force to thwart this attack?

Would he have been within his rights to:
Punch in face?
Used a gun?
Used a knife?

I think a throat punch would have been acceptable. You'd still get cuffed but the video would likely vindicate you.

You ask him nicely to stop away. Then you warn him to step away. Then you make him step away.

He would have caught the crown of my head right into his nose or orbital bone around his eye.

Was the damage inflicted by me or by his need to "bark louder" and "closer".

He's a bitch.

Stand your ground and let him make physical contact with you, then beat the fricking piss out of that little cock gobbler.

I'm sorry but I have no idea who that Labouf guy is and don't care about his political views at all.

I just want to know who is the "us" referring to with the "he will not divide us" chant?

Let him bump you, then it's bear spray time. Sans bear spray, a knee to the groin followed up by a mudhole walking.

One of us would have gotten our arse whipped if that would have been me. I would have sucker punched him and then let what ever happened happen.

doesn't even have to bump you, if you feel threatened and think you or some else is in harms way and there is no way to retreat safely, smash em.

Professional.

Playing dirty and me in my private capacity, headbutt to the bridge of that nose ends that $hit with a quickness. Justifiable self defense to an assault and possible battery because it looks like he is trying to headbutt himself. However, it is obvious he does not know how to correctly.

Not sure what is considered, but I know that one thing I can't handle is someone right in my face like that. I would have stomped his skinny arse and then dealt with the consequences, whatever they may be.

He could have used a reasonable amount of force to overcome the threat.

I would say that shoving him back or some other similar tactic would have been fine and perfectly legal because the aggressor was having physical contact, which is a Battery.

If the victim was a LEO, making an arrest would have been justified because of the physical contact.

Whatever amount of reasonable force (no weapons more than likely unless they were all about to beat his arse) needed to remove himself from the situation. The fact he was surrounded and had someone bodying him like that gives him a bit of leeway. Basically a shove or strike.

Who is that guy getting yelled at? He looks like some poor nerd wearing a German army field cap on his way to a Harry Potter convention.

Legal answer.

You can justify when lurches forward he was attacking you and you would be legal to use defensive tactics to defend yourself.

But once you can safely break away and de-escalate you must.
