My mom loves Trump and hates dems with a passion. She’s a firey old bat.

I have plenty of family members and family friends that recently have been talking the same way. These people never liked Trump to began with but over the last few months, they talk daily about how mean and crazy he is.
Every sentence with them begins with people/they (media, social media, friends) are saying this. No original thoughts. Can’t name most of the policies Trump supports, and why they dislike them. They’ll see some negative news piece or even theory regarding Trump, and they’ll take it as 100% truth. No speculation, just accept it right off the bat.
They’ll blame him for every little thing. I’m not a huge fan of him but it drives me crazy. You can’t argue with them because won’t listen. Won’t even give a simple rebuttal to anything I say.
The only good thing is they do acknowledge Biden sucks too but they hate Trump way more. But even with that, they criticize Trump for things Biden also does. Either they don’t know or they don’t care. They believe what they want to believe.
I completely understand if people don’t like a politician. Especially Trump. But at least be able to articulate why, and have an open mind. If you look at situation with your mind already made it, you’ve lost.
All of this sums up politics in this country and it’s sad and scary.

Demoralization. Communist tactic of indoctrination. Even when presented with hard factual proof the person will refuse to believe it

had a conversation with my sister recently. She was funny because while she is adamant about being a liberal, she could not name one specific example of why she hates DJT. Not one policy. Nothing.
Instead of thinking she’s brainwashed, have you considered that she doesn’t enjoy debating politics with you and was trying to opt out of the conversation?

I would show my mother what a 1 star nursing home looks like. Then she can beg my sisters to not put her in it but they don’t have money that I do so I. The end she would be in a nursing home of my choosing

If she refuses to weight new evidence in her mind, she is in denial. Psychological denial. She has stopped thinking for herself. I don’t know that you can deprogram her mind in 3 weeks.
Or she doesn’t enjoy her son getting heated with her over this and just wants it to stop. As evidenced by “fine I’ll just vote for trump.”
I suspect some of you are misreading the room with your “clueless” or “in denial” friends/family.

What do I do with this? Getting a firsthand look at Trump derangement syndrome and these people are so uninformed and brainwashed it's unreal.
Sounds like my MIL, glued to CNN.
She was on the verge of tears a few days ago saying, “what are we going to if Trump wins“.
Didn’t want to upset the the old buzzard (87) any more so I just shrugged my shoulders

Going back home in a week for wife’s grandmothers birthday. I promised to not bring up politics but have told her I will counter puncher hard and dirty on it. I suspect there will be some drama

My in laws are the same way and always talking about the latest “ buzz” story on Trump. I just ignore them and I look forward to seeing their disappointment yet again this Nov.

You people believe the Spygate fantasy
LINK
quote:
? The FBI hired confidential human source Stefan Halper to spy on campaign volunteers Carter Page and George Papadopoulos in 2016. Mr. Halper wore a wire. Neither man incriminated himself in any Kremlin election interference.
Mr. Halper also used a second informant, an attractive blond woman with the operational name “Azar Turk,” to try to entice Mr. Papadopoulos. She failed. The FBI also put other spies on Mr. Papadopoulos, with the same results.
quote:
? The FBI misled judges to win four wiretap warrants on Mr. Page. The Justice Department inspector general said agents, in sworn affidavits, supplied inaccurate information and withheld favorable evidence, such as Mr. Page denying any criminality to Mr. Halper.
The yearlong wiretaps from October 2016 to September 2017 came after Mr. Page left the Trump candidacy. But the surveillance was essentially spying on the campaign because agents can grab material and electronic communications from Mr. Page’s past, and search his residences. No incriminating information was found.
quote:
? The FBI put surveillance teams in 2016 on retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, a campaign adviser, transition official and, briefly, White House national security adviser, a declassified bureau document showed.
quote:
? The government bugged Flynn’s calls with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak during the transition. The FBI used the call transcripts to target the former Defense Intelligence Agency director even after officially clearing him of Russia collusion.
quote:
? A number of Obama officials, as they were leaving their posts, requested that Flynn’s name be unmasked from top secret National Security Agency reports on communication intercepts. Trump supporters say there was no reason for this unmasking so late in Mr. Obama’s term.
In all, 39 Obama officials asked to see Flynn’s name between Nov. 8 and the inauguration, according to documents obtained by Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, Iowa Republican, from then-acting National Intelligence Director Richard Grenell. The requesters including then-Vice President Joseph R. Biden, now the Democrats’ candidate for president against Mr. Trump.
quote:
? The FBI disguised the purpose of its visit with Flynn and Mr. Trump, then a candidate, as a counter-intelligence threat briefing. Actually, the appearance of agent Joe Pientka in New York was part of the Crossfire Hurricane investigation into Mr. Trump and his team. Mr. Pientka told the inspector general he wanted to see whether Mr. Trump would say something incriminating about Russia. He labeled his post-meeting report as “Crossfire Hurricane.”
You mean aside from all of that?
Remind me please, exactly how much collaboration was ever found between the Trump campaign and the Russian government?

She doesn't like him because he is a draft dodger?

Put your mom in a nursing home far from where you live.
Posted on 10/11/20 at 9:28 pm to Highway_Man
Just off to either (a) fill out her absentee ballot and drop it off, or (b) tell her you'll drop it off for her and then burn it.
Posted on 10/11/20 at 9:29 pm to Highway_Man
Sounds like your mom isn’t very smart

Maybe you should explain that this election is between a giant douche and a turd sandwich. Both candidates fricking suck the biggest suck there is, and it's a travesty that in this great country these two arse clowns are our candidates.
