I hope the Democrats heed his advice and get away from interest group politics.

Jim Webb is a old school blue color Democrat. I really like him a lot.

There are not too many like him left. I hope that Trump considers him as Secretary of Defense. This Republican will sleep better at night with someone like Jim Webb watching my back.

He's a patriot. A Vietnam War vet, former Sec. of Navy under Reagan....and probably one of the most honest men in government.

I think that you would find that working/productive black people aren't having any more children than working whites. The problem is that we basically give financial incentives to the non-working class, to have more children. They get money for each child, they don't have to worry about child care, and they don't really worry about things like housing and education costs.

The country is backwards. We need to give financial incentives to people who support themselves to encourage them to have more children.

Democrats despise poor white folks and laughed at Jim Webb when he mentioned them in the debate. It made me sick to my stomach.

The trump vote was a last ditch effort to hold on to something that will never be again

This is at the heart of it all now isn't it? In 2016, the opportunity for poor working class has no race. And the middle class suffering has no race.

They think Democrats don't like them because Democrats don't like them.

An answer is to empower people who have lost hope or whiners raised to never have it.

Alternative schooling would be an answer to provide a trade skill to all people regardless of economic backgrounds. After primary school we as a nation should support sending as many teens to additional schooling as possible. The front in cost would have to be compromised, the long term results would be a solution.

Eta: the military provides this solution, however we don't force people to join the military.

I remember reading about how much the Dems loved blacks and Jews and other minorities during the first half of last century. Good times.

White people can't understand what it's like to be poor. I know that's true because they said it on CNN.

This is because liberals, for all they rhetoric otherwise, lump each group as a team.

The white team is richer than the black team so frick those poor whites. They don't know what it's like.

Meanwhile, silver spoon Obama DOES.

But it goes further than that. If you live in clay county, you are starting as far behind as any other poor person. Yet, if your kid does bust his arse and do well in school, he's STILL going to lose out in admissions and scholarships to the black child of some middle class family.

And why? Well, because he's already on the winning team. He isn't an individual. He's just white.

Answers like this is why Jim Webb will never be the Democratic Party Nominee. He can't get through their primaries because he isn't liberal enough for them.
