Not surprised at all to see this post from you.

I couldn't think of a more retarded thing that Trump could have done.

Yea, the enthusiastic Trump voters seem to not really care if what Trump does is actually good or bad. They just want to see him do things that piss off the left. Having the right enemies isn't enough, Trump needs to appoint people who will actually do a good job

Then there must be a common core version for TD because that is easily 90% of this site

Why would this be shocking? He runs a successful university, understands the challenges of education and probably would be a breath of fresh air vs the typical political retreads that typically fill these positions. I like the idea of private citizens having a part in govt instead of just a bunch of political hacks.

He understands squat about public education. You want a private citizen? There are a helluva lot of better options.

Personally, I think the DOE should be eliminated and the funds returned to the states.

Because left on their own, many local school boards and individual states would come up with nonsense that makes common core look brilliant by comparison. Go take a look at some of the most popular home schooling curriculum for a glimpse into the nonsense that would arise in many areas.

Just because the government currently blows at educating our youth doesn't mean the alternative wouldn't be worse.

Yeah states rights and letting people govern themselves would be terrible.

Separation of church and state bro. They shouldn't be forcing atheist beliefs like evolution down our vulnerable childrens throats. If they want to teach atheism in schools then they should at least devote the same amount of time to teaching creationism

If you want to pay money to send your kid to atheist private school they can lie to your kid all day but for the poor kids unfortunate enough to be sent to public school, I shudder that they are being indoctrinated with atheist beliefs by angry spinstresses and effeminate beta males

Coming from a poster who has repeatedly revealed his bias and hatred of Christians, this is rich. I have no respect for the opinion of a militant atheist who has suggested that Christians should kill their own children.

He's run Liberty University for a long time and has done a great job. He wouldn't be a terrible choice.

Christians believe in creation (which we have archaeological proof of) and atheists believe in evolution ( which is a theory meaning it isn't true). If you can't teach Christianity in schools atheism shouldn't be allowed to be taught either

Back in my day we learned math and American history and some other stuff. Not sure when everything got so politicized

Falwell leaked this to the press in order to scare the Democrats into voting for DeVos because if its not DeVos they he will be put someone of the Falwell mentality into that position. Nicely played

... There is no archaeological proof of Biblical creation.

No version of the word "theory" means "not true"

Neither is taught in schools. Evolution is a scientific principle, not a religious belief.

The cradle of civilization was in between the Tigris and Euphrates river and built upon the ruins of the garden of Eden. We have found cuneiform tablets with the creation story in this area that date to about the time of creation

Plus we found the remains of Noah's ark on mount Sinai that were preserved by the salt and elevation. And the pharoahs chariots were found on the bottom of the Red Sea because cedar doesn't really rot

I doubt Trump did this; HOWEVER, is your support based solely on the reaction of the decisions, as opposed to the competency of the decision-maker?

I can get behind those that supported Trump because he they believed he would be an effective leader, and draining the swamp meant improving the system itself.

But supporting him just to see the "melt," when when when it's justifiable (like if Farwell was actually nominated), then those people are part of the problem, unlike the other group of supporters.
