Keep the payments to the Saints says JBE

Remember when JBE said higher taxes where literally a "life or death" necessity?? Why wasn't ending film credits and Saints subsidies considered to save lives??? Why just raise taxes??

You see who has the priorities with the politicians and it ain't you and I the tax paying public.

Yeah? Facts say otherwise. JBE is the best governor LA has had for at least the past 3 decades

They are a bunch of lying POS . People who are opposed need to turn up the heat on their local reps. Never understood why the state subsidized the saints anyway . Let Nola do it if they want to keep them

I despise the flag protest. I'm a conservative. I agree with jbe in this situation. You made a contract. The saints did not break the contract. As much as I wish we could pull the plug we can't. You don't void a contract, unless a party did something that clearly voids the contract. If you take emotional aspects out it's pretty obvious:

They redo they contracts all the time to benefit the pro teams. Now needs to be the time to benefit the state. You can still lease the office space just at a competitor rate . Change some other factors and basically quit giving a bilkionare tax payer money

How do you expect this red state, which loves its Corporate welfare , to just renege on a contract?

It's a done deal. Benson's money.

A bad look for future Business contract negotiations with the state trying to weasel out of a deal.

Then It would depend on the wording of the contract for me.

LMAO at all the rednecks melting. FYI, the state will always make payments to the Saints and that’s not gonna change know matter how you rednecks from North Louisiana feel about it.

When is the contract set to expire?

It's not like the Saints are struggling to sell tickets.

So what's the return on our investment in the Saints? I'd guess you're right, the state will pay them, until they leave at least.

I'd guess the roi isn't watch the taxpayers would like to hear. I'd venture on net loss to break even.

Are you really that confused on this? It isn't unique to Louisiana and the Saints. Any State and community that wants big business to plant a flag in their area does this.

This past week in Paul Ryan's district the state of Wisconsin is handing over $3 billion in incentives to Foxconn to build its America plant.
