I understand why the Saints have historically gotten subsidies but things have changed drastically for the better since Katrina.

The Benson family has had their hands in the wallet of Louisiana taxpayers for decades. And it's pathetic that the State leaders, Republicans and Democrats, let them feed at the public trough over and over again.

one of the worst decisions that LA citizens have made is JBE over Vitter...
JBE would be chasing ambulances in Amite with his trial lawyer buddies if Vitter didn't run a shitty campaign and two opportunist and cowardly hayseeds did not unnecessarily and relentlessly assassinate the character of their party's front runner for several months without end.
2015 should be a lesson of a few things.
1.) Having the most money like Vitter did is not the end all be all and not a guarantee of success. You actually have to run a good campaign and engage people and Vitter failed spectacularly at that and deserved to lose on that basis.
2.) You never ever go into the gutter and brutally assassinate the character of your party's front runner to the point where it helps the other party win. Scott Angelle did this and republicans repaid the favor to him a year later with Clay Higgins beating his arse.
Dardenne did what Angelle did but he was smart enough to know he was done as a republican in Louisiana after going for broke against Vitter and failing so he went to go be JBE's whore for the paycheck.
3.) If you're a conservative pissed about JBE being a classic tax and spend liberal after voting for him when he promised to be a moderate, that should be a lesson to you to actually research the candidate you're voting for and listen to conservatives that were warning you he was a wolf in sheep's clothing. Voting for the other guy or party out of rage never works well, especially when it's over something so inconsequential like hookers or being incredibly introverted.

Haha no.
I would take Blanco over him in a heartbeat.
At least she wasn't a huge progressive like JBE that's never met a tax he didn't like.

Believe it or not, most of the Democrats at the Capital have a bit of a bi factional standoff going since his election. Karen Carter Peterson of NOLA is the REAL definition of a modern day Progressive Democrat. To say she’s a wingnut is being charitable.
They wanted to run JBE’s campaign far further towards the left than he realized he could. He won a struggle against her at the Party Level to run a more centrist campaign and still get the state party’s full GOTV support and their $.
At first it seemed he’d govern where he ran, but we saw that was a campaign ploy and not a true plan to be able to run for re election.
But make no mistake, KCP is the Progressive in LA. Not JBE. They are disappointed he hasn’t pushed more through the Legislature. Stop and think about that for a minute while you pause in the booth the next time you’re pulling levers for candidates.

During the race for Governor we knew this is what we'd get but too many "Vitter screwed Hookers" types let this idiot get elected.

How do you expect this red state, which loves its Corporate welfare , to just renege on a contract?
We don't. The few of us who are responsible for actually paying taxes here just want it to expire.

It's a done deal. Benson's money.
Yeah, those of us who actually work for a living get this, and aren't happy.

A bad look for future Business contract negotiations with the state trying to weasel out of a deal.
Won't be the first time the state screws over a company here, won't be the last.

Muh hookers is the same as muh emails. And just as the Dems aren't focused on finding a worthwhile candidate for 2020 the LA GOP should be doing the same. However they are just trying to obstruct everything the man does. As a supporter of JBE I appreciate you for giving him another term. Keep melting.
