"Carville's move comes just a few months after liberal commentator Sally Kohn left Fox News in October and joined CNN."

Sally Kohn actually just officially joined CNN a few weeks ago. She fits in nicely with the "new CNN" as envisioned by Jeff Zucker. Would not be surprised to see her eventually replace Erin Burnett in that early evening slot. Burnett, who was pretty good at CNBC, has been a ratings disaster (I mean ratings so low they hardly even register) at CNN, and she is not nearly liberal enough for Zucker, despite "adjusting" her formerly centrist opinions leftward since Zucker arrived at CNN. She comes across as very uncomfortable in this role and I'm guessing her leaving would be mutually beneficial to both CNN and Burnett herself.

James Carville, the "ragin' cajun" Democratic strategist, has signed on with Fox News, the network announced Thursday.

He's a pretty high profile LSU grad....I guess I'll watch him occasionally.

I bet that Fox News would love to get Burnett as well as SE Cupp (a centrist conservative) away from CNN.

They are quite attractive. I think CNN hiring Burnett was the best move the've made in a while. It's unfortunate but I think most of CNN's viewers and management want someone more liberal.

I thought Cupp was on The Blaze and MSNBC. When did she switch to CNN?

This sounds like the same things people say about Juan Williams.

Juan Williams had tears in his eyes when Obama got elected. That man's no conservative, he's just less liberal than some.

I knew Carville when he lived in Baton Rouge before New Orleans. He had a house right across from LSU Law school and we used a baby sitter/day care in a house 4 houses east of Carville. I used to see him often around 8:ooam. I also used to see him at Pat Screen and Edwards political functions, meetings, dinners, and events for several years. I liked him then, he did not seem so liberal then, really a pragmatist Politian that helped a lot of candidates like I did. He seems more Leftist now, but, is an LSU fan. A die-hard. He would recognize my face if I saw him today, probably not my name, even though I was a state Senator. Fox has enough Liberals, I don't know where he will fit in. I hope he puts his LSU helmet behind him.

When Joe Scarborough was in Congress, he was so conservative that he would've been classified as a Tea Party guy by today's standards. He has made a decided turn towards the Left, and I think it's no coincidence that his ideological shift synched up with the lucrative deal he has with MSNBC.

Erin Burnett needs to come to FOX. The fact that she is to "conservative" for Zucker's CNN is really, really sad.

I didn't say he was conservative, but a lot of people have accused him of drifting to the right in order keep his FOX paycheck coming in. Isn't the opposite what folks here are accusing Scarborough of? Remember, FOX fired Marc Lamont Hill because of complaints that he was too liberal.

Her hiring was in 2011, pre-Zucker. He inherited her. While her ratings were never high, they have really tanked in the past year. She just doesn't fit in at CNN.

Ratings for 7 PM time slot, Monday, Feb. 3rd:

Greta Van Susteren (Fox) - 2,473,000

Chris Matthews (MSNBC) - 1,112,000

Jane Velez-Mitchell (HLN!) - 296,000

Erin Burnett (CNN) - 269,000

Ratings for 7 PM time slot, Tuesday, Feb. 4th:

Greta Van Susteren (Fox) - 2,120,000

Chris Matthews (MSNBC) - 999,000

Jane Velez-Mitchell (HLN) - 305,000

Erin Burnett (CNN) - 271,000

I think we need a permanent stickied poli-board thread dedicated only to her. She is the one thing both Rex and the most far right of posters could agree upon (the only poster that would not like that thread would be Toddy).

Good for Fox. They improve the opposition's quality and and that improves themselves in kind.

You're only as good as your opponents.

Good thing you put was in there.

Anyway, I at people who equate MSNBC with Fox.

The real battle is Fox vs CNN. MSNBC is the crazy drunk uncle in the corner..

MSNBC beats CNN day and evening, virtually every day of the week, at most any hour of the day of live programming. MSNBC pretty easily beats CNN day in and day out.

Zucker has taken CNN straight down a black hole by pushing a strong left agenda when the "market" called for a middle ground between Fox and MSNBC.
He could have revitalized the network when he took over a year ago by placing an emphasis on straight news reporting and a centrist culture.

Instead, he went after his former long-time in-house rival at NBC, Phil Griffin, and the MSNBC audience, and lost much of his network's viewership.

MSNBC, as despicable as I find that network to be, is holding its own as a liberal/leftist network. Its management team knows it can never seriously contend with Fox and is content with being a niche network.

The only "battle" in network news is between CNN and MSNBC, and CNN is currently losing that one badly. Their programming is beyond horrible and they have no ratings winners at all, at any hour, on any day. If Zucker left tomorrow, and they made major changes in their on-air talent, went back to being a straight news network, they could likely move back ahead of MSNBC. In the meantime, CNN is among the walking dead.

This is nothing new for FOX. They have plenty of liberal talking heads. They absolutely present things from a conservative viewpoint, and thank God they do, since all of the other tv news networks have a decidedly liberal bent.

You mean the liberal talking heads that are there as punching bags to prop up the propaganda that fox new spews?
