I wasn't aware that CNN was having problems of that magnitude.

They even made a splash with their new CNN Latino a year ago, then watched it fall flat on its face.
This from yesterday:

"CNN Latino shutting down a year after launch"

I check in daily with cable news network ratings numbers, as well as monitoring the "Big 3" and the C-Span networks myself. Have been doing so since retiring three years ago. I monitor the three networks about equally so I will know what is going on at each one myself, without having to rely on hearsay. The decline in CNN reaches out and screams for attention. Zucker has stated that he now wants to take CNN away from its news origins and into "other" programming (remember when The Weather Channel was actually 24/7 weather and MTV and VHS were 24/7 music video channels?).

This article from a couple of weeks ago illustrates what is going on at CNN:

"CNN Hits Lowest Rated Week in Demo Since Jeff Zucker Took Over" - Jan. 22, 2014

"Looking back over the past 12 months, CNN has fallen hard since the week the former NBCUniversal exec officially took over as president of CNN Worldwide; year-over-year, CNN was down 33% in total day from the comparable week a year before (January 14 – 20, 2013) and down 39% in primetime. Fox News actually saw a 3% bump from the 212,000 it had in adults 25-54 a year ago, while MSNBC dipped 5% from the 155,000. In primetime, Fox News was down 8% from the 283,000 viewers it had that week last year. Despite a rocky year with hosts and schedule changes, MSNBC actually went up 12% from the 209,000 viewers in the 25-54 demo that it had the week of January 14-20, 2013."
