No because the right has never used the combined might of every intelligence agency we have at the taxpayers expense to investigate the main stream media and conduct hearings on their conduct in Congress.

That's because the MSM didn't hack/steal information. There's a pretty big difference between freely publishing something that YOU created versus publishing something that was stolen from someone else.

Our amendments protect our own free speech. They don't protect you from stealing information from others.

Intelligence officials are also saying they published fake news. MSMHater, are you now OK with fake news?

The MSM has published more fake news in the weeks postdating the election than any conglomerate of hackers could have dreamed of concocting.

This fake news shite is over. It's done. It's not a thing. Stop trying to make it a thing.

You're ignorant of history. This stuff happens all the time. No one cared how Newt Gingrich's phone got tapped. But the information on the call started an ethics review (pretty sure). The news media leaked intelligence briefings which were leaked to them illegally during the Bush administration and they were patriots for doing so.

Podesta's email gets hacked and our entire electoral process is in jeopardy. Grow the frick up and read a book.

How do you see this as political? Did you watch the hearings? The Dems and Repubs were in complete agreement the Russians tried to influence the election. Literally everyone in Washington agrees with this except Trump. Why?

Politics extends well beyon dem v repub man. politicians are fighting for survival right now, and they will say do whatever it takes to stay elected and maintain or increase their political power. which includes working with the fictional "other side" whenever necessary.

Just curious.

Does anyone think the Russians wouldn't meddle in any of our previous presidential elections hoping to influence the vote?

Of course not. But it's only recognized when it's our ox being gored.

He has the mentality of a boy in puberty. Many here are just like him, so they love it. There is no endgame. Just a rich high school kid running the country.

Should a CEO publicly deride a department within his company?

Lets set aside the the fact that this CEO doesn't know what the frick he's talking about compared to the department he's publicly shaming.

In none of those cases did the media illegally obtain the information. The media didn't tap Newt's call and the media didn't hack into US govt servers to get the intelligence briefings. Russia allegedly orchestrated the attack and obtained the information. That's the difference. The media was playing the role of Wikileaks, not Russia, in those cases.

So is it now the official opinion of the liberals on the board that Trump is conspiring to reduce his dissenters credibility? Haven't we heard for years that those kinds of things don't really happen? A president is just a president and not a boogeyman?
I actually truly don't follow anything you're saying here. Does one need to conspire to undermine a dissenter's credibility? And how are the officers and analysts in the IC who concluded that the Government of the Russian Federation attempted to influence this election Trump's "dissenters?" It seems to me as though we're foes of Russia.

The media have published leaked (i.e. stolen) information--private and government, and sometimes highly classified. I never cottoned to the practice. But that's not what's at issue.

The media may in most cases publish such information--as they did in this election.

The people may weigh such information as they choose when forming opinions and making decisions--including the context in which they received the information--as they did in this election.

***That's one side of the equation.***

The other side, that Russia sought to influence our elections, is the matter at hand. I understand the consternation Trump and his team and supporters feel about the continued churn on this, but that's just tough. It needs to be addressed.

Don't know what about all this is so complicated.

It needs to be brought to light, as is being done. And there needs to be a reckoning. And I'm not talking about closing a few fricking retreats on the East Coast.

We've been saying "Cyber's the next domain of war" for over 10 damn years. It's time we stop treating it like a child's game.
