Weird. I think Trump does a decent job when speaking.

To be fair, Clinton was good as well. He, Obama, Reagan, and JFK I'd imagine are top 10s in the orator category.

W. was horrible, and he unintentionably expanded the lexicon

It's possible to dislike Obama and everything he stands for and still be objective about.
It's one thing to believe a president is not THAT intelligent for the postition (just average or slightly above) or doesn't behave like an intelligent person. It is another thing altogether to believe a president (Trump, Bush, Obama, etc.) actually has below average intelligence, despite a history of success.
There is very little chance that person can objectively evaluate anything in politics.

It doesn't change that you're dumb and don't know anything about history. Anyone who says Trump or Obama are the worst orators as President are either ignorant or stupid.

It makes sense... he has to cater to the standards of his supporters. Those who voted for him are generally without a college degree.

Off the cuff, Obama. On script, Bush.

Passed FE and PE in my lifetime. Okay, I'm dumb about history!
I believe I asked a question. I did not state he was the worst; but asked who was.
English language much?

His speech at the 2012 DNC convention was better than anything we've seen in a long, long time. It's prose delivered poetically.

Yeah, I agree with this. His oratory skills were unique and hard to classify.

I think Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter weren't very good speakers but I like the way President Trump speaks and I have a college education.

This, Obama could read the hell out of a well polished speech, but without notes or prompter he fumbled and stuttered constantly. Bush 43 was the opposite, he was excellent off the cuff, no notes or prompter, but couldn't read a speech if his life depended on it.
If Trump has a speech written for him, on the prompter, and rehearsed he is almost in the zone with Obama. The short speech he gave to announce his SCOTUS nominee was a good example, just off the cuff he can get cringe worthy.

I'm still amazed people think Obama off script was some amazing speaker. That's just not true.
I will say, public speaking is hard to do. I always hated having to do it. Talking to a small group, didn't really like it but much easier to get in a groove.
In front of a big audience? Yea, frick that noise lol.

I'm a MAGA; but it doesn't deter my support for him. Just curious who some other bad speakers were.

Clinton was a pretty awful 'speech giver' actually. He's apparently always had a great gift for 'working a room', though. He's like Edwin Edwards.
ETA, And to be clear there's no innuendo in this point. I mean this purely at face value.

I know a lot of you are too young to remember, but I am surprised none of my Boomer contemporaries didn't already mention LBJ. That man could cause a freshly painted wall to crack and peel with age while you watch. Painfully slow speaker, often sounding like he was reading... and badly reading, with a thick Texas drawl. Incongruous facial expressions. It was painful to hear and to watch.
