I've noticed a concerning trend among young people that freedom is an illusion. The troubling part is their conclusion: freedom is an illusion so all ur rights belong to us.
There are many forms of capitalism, and I'm not i'm not a fan of our current form. Government regulation makes the cost of doing business so expensive that only a select number of companies can survive a down turn. Competition is stifled. I believe you should be able to sell anything you want out of home. frick the man.
Man is born naked into the world, and needing to use his mind to learn how to take the resources given him by nature, and to transform them (for example, by investment in "capital") into shapes and forms and places where the resources can be used for the satisfaction of his wants and the advancement of his standard of living. The only way by which man can do this is by the use of his mind and energy to transform resources ("production") and to exchange these products for products created by others. Man has found that, through the process of voluntary, mutual exchange, the productivity and hence the living standards of all participants in exchange may increase enormously.

You pointed to healthcare, and that's an interesting topic. It use to be relatively cheap. Doctors made a practice of treating their poorer patients for free. There were more charity hospitals. Now it's a giant mess of bureaucratic red tape. It's nearly impossible for the average person to pay their medical bills for a procedure out of pocket. Government created this problem, and they came to the rescue when cost inflated.
Student loans is another prime example. Peter Schiff on how government programs drive up tuition cost
When you think about the current set up, it should make your blood boil: a government claims to rule on your behalf, and yet almost everything they do makes things more expensive, which destroys your income and makes you poorer. It then steals more money from you, or borrows and prints it, so that it can give relief from the negative side effects of it's policies. They call it compassion. It's a fricking racket.
Meanwhile it wages endless, pointless wars, and military contractors and weapons manufacturers are making money hand over fist. It's a war on "terror," with no uniformed men, and no one who can surrender to us.
We pump money year in and year out into a failing, bloated education system that you pay for whether you have a child or not, or whether your child attends a public school or not. The schools are glorified child care, and we're having to import a lot of our grad students from other countries.
They lie to our faces and we know it. They make promises they don't keep they. They rule over you whether you vote or not. And yet people still have the nerve to say we are the government. Utter bull shite. They're not us, and we are not them.
