Similar draft spot and every single mock draft had Rankins to the Saints

Rankins was a good player too before his Achilles injury. I think when the actual draft matches all the mock drafts, people view it as boring.

I don't mind the pick. I mind the fact that we are in this position to start because our dumbass front office keeps missing on OL like that retard Penning.

Just lacks imagination and the continued issue with this FO, too focused on the short term.

Im ok forcing the pick if he’s the missing piece but you have holes everywhere, they should be going BPA

We need more boring picks. Splash picks are partly to blame for the shape we’re in now.

Rankins was on the verge of becoming elite before that Achilles

Rankins play isn’t really the point. More about how people are “meh’ing” this pick because it’s been mocked a thousand times.

The Saints were always drafting after the top 2-3 OTs have already been taking and they end up with a less than desirable tackle.

Ramczyk was the only one we hit and his career is in jeopardy due to an injury now.

Yes in the sense it feels like they forced themselves into drafting a need instead of drafting bpa. Maybe he is bpa, just seems like since allen has taken over the bpa is always the most extreme need. Not a great long term play

At least we aren’t taking dudes with injury histories and 2nd-3rd round grades in the 1st like with Payton.

Allen drafts like his existing roster has a gun to his head.

Exactly this. We’re likely going to suck or be average at best. Get the best absolute players for the future.

Short term, did you hear the analyst say he should be a 10 to 15 year starter? This pick was the opposite of short term.

It really sucks that Penning busted and Rams knee blew up to put us in the position. But because all that has happened the team had to take a T.

No poppa, you didn’t have to tame anyone. Guess what? This team will probably suck again be next year, you shouldn’t have been forcing a need when your cash strapped and have holes everywhere.
