I think al-Baghdadi is a badass last name. I know it simply means "from Baghdad", but it still sounds cool.
Most of those Arab names read dumb, but his reads menacing.

US seeing signs Iran engaged in Iraq strife, official says
quote:
A senior U.S. defense official said Friday U.S. officials were seeing signs that Iranian fighters were engaged in Iraq, a development the source described as "concerning."
But it was not immediately clear how many troops were involved.
The defense official told Fox News the United States had been watching the swift gains made by the Sunni group known as Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) for months, adding "this didn't just happen."
"This is bad," the official said, adding that "there is not much we can do (militarily). We are way behind the curve."
The official said people in the U.S. Embassy feel threatened, but it's too "politically sensitive" to evacuate them right now.

There could be a silver lining in all the horror, but one I truly hope does not come to pass.
Barack has made the decision not to evacuate our embassy and our people over there. If the bad guys attack the embassy or grab some Americans, Obama will think Benghazi is a Sunday School class.
I really hope this does not happen, but Obama will have brought it on himself and I am afraid it is a real possibility. It might be the end of him.

In defense of Baghdad, Iraq turns to Shi'ite militias
quote:
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The Special Forces soldier watched as militia fighters from the group Asaib Ahl Haq reinforced his elite Iraqi military battalion north of Baghdad earlier this week.
Beyond their ranks, deployed between the Shiite cities of Dujail and Balad, was the army of Sunni militants.
He marveled at the group that had been trained by the Iranians. They were in the thousands and drove in a mix of military and civilian vehicles, organized by skill set: there was a sniper platoon and a special platoon for raiding houses.
“There were too many. I couldn’t count,” he said on Friday. “The weapons they have are better than the military’s.”
For several months, Asaib Ahl Haq and another Iranian-trained militia, Kata'ib Hezbollah, have been Prime Minister Nouri Maliki's secret weapon in his fight against Sunni militants who seized western Iraq’s largest cities Fallujah and Ramadi in January.
Maliki will be counting on them as never before in the coming days to lead an informal army of Shi'ite citizen volunteers in the defense of Baghdad. Sunni militants have made a rapid advance through northern Iraq this week, taking control of Iraq's second city Mosul and several others.

Iraq’s Largest Refinery Falls to Insurgents
quote:
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Insurgents who have been sweeping across Iraq and are moving toward Baghdad, seized Iraq’s largest oil refinery on Friday, multiple sources told Rudaw.
The Baiji facility, which is in Salahaddin province and processes 320,000 barrels per day (bpd), is fully intact and continues to operate under orders from the militants, the sources said.
They said the insurgents also were in control of the nearby Ajeel oil field.
Local workers, Iraq’s state-owned North Oil Company, and Ministry of Interior officials confirmed the refinery had been seized by insurgent Sunni tribes, who are fighting in concert with Islamist militants and other government opponents.
The insurgents moved into the refinery town of Baiji on Wednesday, setting fire to the courthouse and police station.
The Iraqi government had said it had sent additional forces to secure the refinery.
But army has largely collapsed before onslaughts by insurgents, deserting en masse and leaving behind weapons depots and arms.

US sends carrier group for Iraq crisis as Iran offers co-operation
quote:
US had ordered an aircraft carrier, USS George HW Bush, into the Gulf in response to the crisis in Iraq, the Pentagon said last night.
“The order will provide the commander-in-chief additional flexibility should military options be required to protect American lives, citizens and interests in Iraq,” Rear Admiral John Kirby, the Pentagon spokesman, said.
Admiral Kirby said the carrier, which is named after the US president, now 90, who led the coalition in the Gulf War to drive Saddam Hussein’s forces out of Kuwait, would be accompanied by a guided-missile cruiser and a guided-missile destroyer.

nope the dems would never impeach. He could drop a nuke on american protestors in america and the dems would say that the radical tea partiers got what they deserved. Most of America might disapporve of him but it is mathmatically impossible (even if the R's win big in the midterms) to impeach him.

Obama is going to use the Bush to bomb Iraq so he can still blame it on Bush.
