This is a fine line to walk. Crash Mexico's economy and cause widespread social strife and you could be looking at a communist puppet state taking over our southern border.

I think the best strategy is to renegotiate NAFTA, get rid of the trade deficit between our countries and use some of the funds saved on a wall to increase border security. There is nothing to be gained by pushing Mexico around to the point of near collapse.

There's a reason why only white people like small, limited government and free markets.

When you import demographics from 3rd world shitholes with large and powerful governments, you import bigger and more oppressive government.

There's a reason why they suck up so much social welfare and criminal justice costs. Illegal immigrants are stealing money from the american taxpayer and we have to stop it.

Trump's plan on how they will pay for it have been on his website for months. Your ignorance of that does not change the fact it has been there. So, please explain why his plan won't be put in place. Tia.

The plan on his website relies on so many hypotheticals and contains, what, 3 or 4 figures.

We don't even know how much the wall will cost, nor do we know how long it will take to build (after taking all of the private land).

TL;DR - trump wall plan is barebones

Must be a lot of young folks in this thread. Last time the peso crashed, we had an influx of immigrants. In addition, the ones that are here do not return home. A weak Mexico on our border is not beneficial for those hoping to reduce southern border crossovers. The wall, assuming one at all, will take time. After all, the government has been 4 laning a 20 mile road by my house for the last 4 years and it's still not complete.

Wrong, these parts are about to be taxed bigly. They need to make the dang taillight assembly in the USA

Why is everybody so excited to have rising inflation?

And why is everybody so excited about crashing other countries economies, and breaking up other countries' agreements?

It seems to me that in the long run, it's just going to make everything more expensive.

Actually, I'm right.

Damn that was really hard.

quote:

They receive approximately $24 billion a year in remittances from Mexican nationals working in the United States. The majority of that amount comes from illegal aliens.

I'd love to see actual proof that the majority of that money comes from illegals.

quote:

Keep in mind, the United States has already taken in 4X more migrants than any other country on planet earth, producing lower wages and higher unemployment for our own citizens and recent migrants

I'd love to see a study that actually proves this to be true.

quote:

Mexico has taken advantage of us in another way as well: gangs, drug traffickers and cartels have freely exploited our open borders and committed vast numbers of crimes inside the United States.

These are actions of individuals, not the Mexican government.

His plan is full of shite.

With indirect effects like that, I'm beginning to believe more and more than Mexico will have to pay for the wall to avoid consequences

Ok. Well you didn't mention "restricted zones" did you? My family owns beachfront property in the Mayan Riviera. and there are several Americans that own beachfront property within a couple of miles.

It would seem to me the best way to keep Mexicans working in Mexico is to help them build their economy.

Does Mexico have a president of its own? Maybe he can work on that shite stain of an economy.
