Global investors are fleeing Mexico’s financial markets, sending the peso to record lows on mounting concerns that Donald Trump’s trade policy could end the country’s privileged status among developing countries.

We're gonna build a big beautiful wall folks, and trust me Mexico is going to pay for it.

We're gonna renegotiate NAFTA folks and we're gonna get a much better deal, this I can tell you.

He's better since Mexico's economy may collapse. We don't need a mad rush of illegal immigrants pushing into the country.

Except Mexico isn't going to pay for it. And hopefully we don't waste our taxpayer money on it either.

Things we could spend that $$ on and get a better return:
Infrastructure - roads and bridges
Education
Healthcare
Public Works
Voter Fraud Protection, since everyone on this board is super concerned about that

Great, now I get to listen to even more sob stories from NPR about how jobs returning to America is putting Mexicans out of work.

I sated this in the peso thread. This will continue to drive down the peso.

mexico has some laws on the books that you cannot own beach property unless you are a native Mexican. If they would change this, and allow the US and other countries to come clean our the cartels, Mexico COULD be a nice place.

Are those investors redirecting that money to the US? If not I don't see why this is a good thing.

At least they will pay sales tax. How about we do away with income tax and raise sales tax? Then illegals won't be able to afford to live here.

Mexico wants to renogiate NAFTA.

Seems like a golden opportunity to put some friendly wording about a wall in there.

not only is this not going to happen, it wouldn't do much, if anything, to drive out and keep out illegals

So let me get this straight, the way to halt illegal immigration from our southern neighbor is to crash their economy?

That seems to be counter-productive.

It would seem to me the best way to keep Mexicans working in Mexico is to help them build their economy. The immigration problem is an economic one, not a physical one. There is an economic gradient between the two countries that is causing the problem. The steeper the gradient, the larger the flow of labor across the border.

And the only solutions to economic problems are economic solutions.

I can just hear it now, "Mr. President, tear down this wall!"

I used to just think you were just a disillusioned liberal.

Your post verifies that you're just a dumbass.

It doesn't matter where those investment dollars are going, what's important and relevant is the fact that MEXICO isn't getting them.
