I have a theory we are expressing some type explosion. Nuclear meltdown about to get really bad for them. Fun to watch though but don't get to close to it.

History lesson: Ballistic missile defense was a Reagan (remember him?) initiative. Russia viewed this purely defensive measure as a provocation, and apparently still does. Moreover, the poliboard consensus has apparently come around to the Russian viewpoint. I wish Kubrick was still around. There's a hell of a movie to be made about these times.

Remind me who is currently the president and has been for almost 8 years and under whose administration did this happened? But somehow it is trumps fault they did this even though it occurred a month before he was even elected.
For most of obama's presidency everything was bush's and the previous administration fault, and now his failures are somehow the fault of a president and an administration that hasn't even take office yet.

Putin is just putting bargaining chips into place before Trump gets into office. By moving those into Eastern Europe he now has more to leverage in talks about the missile defense system Obama screwed up.
The blame for Putin going ahead with this is solely on the current administration.

I've asked this question before, and it was ignored. There used to be at least a little serious discussion on the poliboard. That's nearly all disappeared in the last month, to be replaced by slavish cheerleading.
So I'll ask again. What does Trump do when Putin makes a move on Lithuania, or issues an ultimatum to Poland? Send a strongly-worded tweet? Trump may think he and Putin are friends. Putin just sees him as an intelligence asset to be discarded when he's not longer useful.
Russia's middle east adventures notwithstanding, the real end game with Putin is expansion into territories he sees as traditionally Russian, and a Russian influence and agenda setting in Central and Western Europe. He wants European leaders looking to Moscow, not Washington. And he may get what he wants in the next four years.
