Yes, back when America was at its peak.
And the top marginal tax rate was 91%

Shouldn't we expect the AG enforce the laws on the books?
That is what they get paid to do.
Both the AG and President also swear an oath to faithfully execute the laws of the United States.
Blatant disregard of this duty is a fireable or impeachable offense.

No its not. You're taking the absolutist view of the oath they take.
It's well within their scope of authority and purview of executive action to refuse to defend and execute the laws of the United States. Especially if they believe its unconstitutional, or just a bad law that is bad on its face. Nobody else can enforce it for them.
There's tons of historical precedent besides Obama for doing so.
The ability to refuse to enforce a law is an accepted historical practice that conservatives are conveniently forgetting.

What AG candidates are out there for either side that you think would've ended Wod or Civil Asset Forfeiture? The answer is just about zero. Once you give the federal government power like this it's impossible to roll back.

Do not bring logic into a thread where the drama queens are raging.

That's the most hopeless aspect to me. Hard to make actual changed with regards to drug laws as prison reform when Sheriffs and DAs are as powerful as they are.
Also, something to consider...anyone with the kind of legal resume to be considered for a Republican AG is not going to be someone who is pro legalization.

Rand should filibuster if that is the case.
Sessions is a class favorite on TD.

Come on Rand, show us what you are made of. Maybe someone from across the aisle will grow a pair and help you out.

They rule the roost man especially in Southern states where the Sheriff has some serious power.

I agree and Trump can nip all this in the bud so to speak, it would not be good policy to go after referendum states and I bet he knows that.

I agree
It would be bad optics
Same reason I don't believe he'll actually deport anyone other than criminals

I'm hoping Rand can find some democrats to help him out on it and that will boost his numbers. All he would need then is a few willing republicans who are actually small government conservatives.
Democrats will be the easy part. They'll take any chance they can to get a head trophy. Rand + 48 Democrats means he just needs two Tea Party or libertarian types to join him,
