resources were exhausted for you and your family with no knowledge of when that would end, would you loot or take from others to preserve yourself and your family?

Food or water needed for survival, sure. TVs and tennis shoes, hell no.

I would drive / temporarily move to a better location.

Sure.

That wouldn't excuse my actions though, nor would it justify them to the rest of society.

Suggesting total end of the world type shite?
Or the grid down for a week or so? If the former sure.
If the latter, naw man, I believe you would get your arse kicked for that.

Nah, I'd just go stay with family or friends in an unaffected area before I would resort to criminal ways.

If other people had the things I didn't, I'd feel like a jackass for not being prepared like them.

I'd plant a garden on my roof and start raising rabbits for their delicious meat.

j/k I live on False River, plenty of water to sterilize and fish from.

If there was a disaster no one would have time for golf. I'd go to the golf course for water. The ice would be melted in the coolers but the water would be OK.

As for food... I've got 15 large oak trees on my property. I've got enough acorns and squirrels to last ten years.

You seem confused on what looting is.

As soon as the power goes out, fill all the water jugs and tub...

You have a few hours before the water tower pumps finish with their water

I could last for over a year with what I have now. Not to mention hunting, fishing, etc., would extend that.
