This was the situation in September 2005, when I left the disaster area, and went to an area that had food, water, and all of the modern conveniences. That's called evacuating.

Most of them are anti-gun, so they won't be able to resist you if you are well armed.

Easy targets.

What if no gas, no ability for motorized travel?

I have a well, 400 acres of land, 200 head of cattle, and a huge garden in the summer that we can out of to get through the winter. I also have lots of guns to ensure that no one who is not invited to share my resources does so.

I'm not a prepper by any means, but I do believe in basic precautions.

Walk?

I mean maybe you'd have a point if you live in a major urban center...but no way in hell I'd ever live in a major urban center. Those people are about one week away from Thunderdome in any disaster scenario.

All good, but how fast can you get there? Let's say there is a gas shortage and choas worse than a hurricane evac? And BTW I see nothing wrong with prepping. Is this you? LINK

You can email me your addy. I can add resources, hunters, and many other talents.

If I lived on an island in an area known for hurricanes, I'd be prepared to ride out a strong hurricane.

Just like if I lived in a flood plane I'd have flood insurance and build my house up on stilts.

I would rob the stores blind. Sell everything on the black market and put a down-payment on a new place in a better area.

I'm there now. Retired, remember. I mean I go out and about of course but you know what I mean.

As for gas. I don't keep much gasoline here, 25 gallons or so stored in various places for lawn mowers and such but I also have a 250 gallon diesel tank for the farm machinery and a diesel generator to run my house (it's a hard wired home generator) but obviously that would be used sparingly.

It would take a pretty severe emergency to totally take me out right out of the gate. I bet if push came to shove I have enough food and water either frozen, canned, or dry goods to last at least a year for my family of 6 plus my immediate extended family .
Plus, of course, they each have their own resources to add to the stockpile , my house being the biggest and the most central and the most well stocked is the designated meeting place if something happens.

LOL, So you'd rob the liberals that used their brains to prepare because you're dumb. Sad!
