I’m convinced the world and humanity will end simultaneously due to a singular catastrophic event like the sun exploding/imploding, asteroid/meteor/comet strike, volcanic activity like Yellowstone exploding, or massive solar flares.
Until then let’s live it up with our eye primarily on economic prosperity.

This.
Over the last 100 years the earths temp rose 1.5 degrees Celsius and the human condition has improved to a level never before experienced.
It is expected the earths temp will rise another 1.5 degrees in the forthcoming 100 years.
I think we’ll be fine.

I seriously studied it for 10 years before I came to this board. It was called Global Warming back then. They changed it to climate change when the warming models were proven to be fake.
They're still faking the data.

sun exploding/imploding
It's scheduled to happen in about 3 billion years. Just a drop in the bucket when measured against the eternity of the afterlife.
quote:
asteroid/meteor/comet strike
Imminent. We don't know when the next asteroid will hit Earth, as not all of them are detected with our current observations. There was one that sneaked up on Siberia a few years ago, causing immense local damage.
quote:
volcanic activity
Always imminent. We can detect unusual activity near a hotspot or caldera, but Yellowstone, Etna, Rainier and other supervolcanoes around the globe are overdue to blow their top.
quote:
massive solar flares
Extremely likely, especially as one advances poleward.

Didn’t the NOAA get caught changing data points? Iirc, they even admitted it.

The mighty Buffalo during the 19th century covered the Great Plains from Texas to Canada. Millions of them roamed over the Plains like waves over the ocean. They farted tremendously and we worry about cow farts today.

And the Little Ice Age was still winding down not long before then.

How much CO2 pollution
That fact that you called CO2 pollution lets me know how ignorant you are on the subject matter.
Again…YOU are carbon.
YOU could kill yourself and do your part to save the planet (at least according to the climate catastrophists).
I hope that you aren’t that dumb, but I’m not so sure.

No see the very openly moved the goalposts to climate change as a catch-all for cold weather events like this.

How much CO2 pollution do we need to end the "drought"?
More than we have now.

How hot is Earth's optimal temperature supposed to get?
You do realize that trees put off water as a by-product of transpiration…right.
It would mitigate the heat waves experienced in the hotter / drier places on the planet.
I mean, the Sahel was “re-greening,” despite no discernible difference in precipitation. Why? Increased CO2.
The temps in the region also dropped.
Then, presto, the “world” decided to “build” the great green wall of Africa.
The “control” (the Sahel) was drastically changed.
Now…the “living experiment” can’t be replicated on such a grand scale.
Congrats to you and the climate crazies for dicking things up though.
Here, let me simplify things for you…

Thats the gist of it.
This right here.

Everything man could do to stem climate change could be reversed in less than a year by a couple of untimely, major volcanic eruptions.
I believe all these climate activist efforts could be put to better use if they focused on cleaning up our environment such as removing plastic from our oceans and rivers to start. frickin’ Chinese and Indians alone are polluting earth’s water.
They ought to put orange vests on Greta, John and Al and have them pick up road litter.

The climate changes. Been doing this for eons. That’s why it’s the perfect opportunity for a scam.

Your side needs to quit lying about it and falsifying data. The lib climate prognosticators haven’t been right on hardly any of their predictions. Sensible people see through that. Plus, none of the biggest warmers practice what they preach.

Baloney! He is a creditable source. To say there is “literally” no one more creditable is absurd. For one thing, he is 83 years old. I don’t know who the most creditable person is, but I promise he is not 83.
BTW, I am a long time global warming skeptic. I’ve been heavily involved in reading the debate since 1990.

Serious advocates of climate change would answer you that it is not bad, in and of itself, and what is bad is the rate of change we are approaching - at least according to their models which are always wrong.
Their point is that gradual climate change is fine. If the coast recedes 5 meters per 50 years that is easy to adapt to. But if the coast recedes 5000 meters in 50 years that would be hard on humans.
