Imagine getting caught cheating by your wife. You then tell her that when you slept with her, it was in your role as just a human man who's biological duty to procreate. That you took your ring off to make it clear that this what not in your role as a husband.
This analogy just shows how silly Sessions' defense is at this point. He committed perjury. For more info on what constitutes perjury here is Session's own view of the matter, when it was about Clinton:
