ever met are Russians....followed closely by Germans. I met one super pleasant, outgoing Russian in Thailand....and tried...Lord how I tried to connect to some others, but no go. I talked to native Thai....they LOVE Aussies...Americans....and tolerate Russians and Germans.

Definitely.

Definitely disagree here. Those are some fun motherfrickers to hang with. Gotten anihilated with Germans on several occasions. Save for the US, UK, and China, have more German friends than from any other nation. Maybe I got a good batch when I was living in China, but I loved those drunken bastards. Can't say that a German was ever once rude to me, unless they're busting your balls of course.

At a corporate function I watched a Ukrainian team member nearly beat the shite out of a project manager by telling him that being from Kiev meant he was Russian.

Russians are too diverse to really say what they are like but the ones from st. Petersburg have been the worst I've encountered.

Maybe older Russians. I've met several young Russians in the Caribbean and they loved Americans and were very cordial.

Have you been to Russia? Lived in Russia?

You are ignorant and so is your post. Russians are just as diverse as Americans in hospitality and political opinion. They tend not to learn foreign languages unlike many other Europeans but neither do Americans, so this may make them seem inhospitable.

You travelled the world but based your opinion on what a Thai local said?

Scandies are the worst - they aren't unfriendly or mean, it's just that 95% of them would be considered shy and introverted by American standards. Since I'm considered loud and boisterous even by native measure, my time in Oslo and Trondheim was often met by looks of bewilderment and quiet disgust.

Russians would have just beat my arse.

met are the Americans. I am an American. The worst of us are the tourists. American tourists are the worst, most demanding, arrogant and inhospitable people. They ignore proper decorum.

I spent some time with some Russians in Budapest and Slovokia. They suck, it's kinda like they are brainwashed and 20 years behind. Most Europeans are amazed by Americans but Russians can care less.

The Australians always made things interesting when they pulled into port. Kept base security busy, that's for sure!

because the worst Americans do most of the travelling

Good old Joe from Monroe isn't going to the capitals of Europe for vacation, he is going to the Gulf Coast or Smokies or Rockies or somewhere like that.

Really? Russians are notoriously non-hospitable or warm people. The ones from St. Peterburg and Moscow I've met are cold, and the ones from the Eastern part of their country are entirely inappropriate as a whole. I don't think Russia has quite the hospitality as America and most Europeans are known for.
