Few people know this but Condoleeza Rice was on the Board of Directors of Exxon before joining the Bush administration.

Tillerson has spent the majority of his career cultivating personal relationships with global leaders and heads of State; I applaud the Trump administration for exploiting this instead of appointing a clown like Rudy G or Mitt fricking Romney.. And being a prudent CEO, he's duplicitous enough to work in the best interests of America without creating enemies.

I agree. People will freak out because it's "big oil" but the fact is international oil is very political and he will be very versed in dealing with several of the worlds more tougher governments.

Terrible pick.

Condi being on the board is vastly different than an employee who started at the bottom and had worked his entire life for Exxon.

There is no way he will be able to be impartial. SOS is not a CEO/CFO. I think Trump will lose a lot of support internally after this pick.

I respectfully disagree. People like this out-of-the-box thinking and will give the benefit of the doubt. Really, the same could be said of the voters' decision on Trump himself. They wanted something different and the fact that career politician types are wailing is a good sign, according to this way of thinking.

I can't even see him winning a single Primary.

My only problem with Rex is that I am a share holder in XOM and he has been an outstanding CEO so he will be greatly missed. Outside of that I think he is an excellent choice for SoS.

I like his relationship with Putin. I dont like his trilateral commission and Council on Foreign Relations ties but I understand it. I don't like Exxon as a company and I say that having a Father, Grand Father and God Father retire from Exxon. I know their politics and I'm not a fan. Having said all that I still understand the pick from a business perspective since I am a businessman myself.

What is it you don't like? Honest question.

Why would a Secratery of State have to be impartial? They are representing the American people and should be partial to what is best for the citizens of the country.

I think he was talking about being impartial in regards to his former business interests.

He should be named Energy secretary not Secretary of State. That should be a diplomat.

So switch into CVX. I own both and I'm not selling XOM.

Your UV to DV ratio at the time of my reading is 9:1. That's an interesting ratio considering you ended the post with a compliment of Tillerson's duplicity.

The "world-class player" has no government experience, but Donald said his deals with Russia are "massive". That's huge, and enormous.

Roger Stone's account of the dealings with Romney gives me somewhat of a more favorable view of Donald. According to Stone's account, Trump was diddling with Romney. Word is Willard had his tongue hanging out as he got played bigly and big-league and big-time. Big-ups to Trump for his dealings with little Willy.
