If it were up to Romney or Kasich, Hillary would have won.

Just because people have disagreements on one issue doesn't mean that they might not agree on others. Just because Romney has a completely different philosophy on healthcare doesn't mean that he wouldn't be excellent at foreign policy.

Just because my mechanic can't do my taxes doesn't mean he's not qualified to fix my car.

Romney was spot on with his foreign policy take in 2012. Almost everything he said proved to be correct at the moment, and play out over time as such.

What worries me about the Bannon types is they don't carry enough weight on their own. A strong admin needs heavy weights beyond the president, not just sycophants.

He was dead on on Syria
Dead on on Ukraine
Dead on on China
Dead on on Russia
Right on Turkey
Right on ISIS
Right on Greece
Right on Germany
Right on Spain
Right on Italy
Right on Ireland

It would be easier to list what he was wrong about

What are you referring to?

Trump has changed positions a ton. He's acted like a complete douchebag at times. He may or may not be a good human being.

So what? Time to govern now. Very few people in any administration, this one included, are going to have flawless records.

There's not a more cuck arse Republican than Romney. I've been on the Trump Train since Day 1, but I will be off that bitch ASAP if Romney has anything to do with this Administration. Romney will Make America Remain Cuck Still. He doesn't MAGA.

He saved the Winter Olympics in Utah.
He ran a successful multi-national corporation.

I mean, that's not the most qualified person ever, but that's not nothing. The guy clearly knew what he was talking about 4 years ago because his predictions came true. I have never been a Romney supporter, but I will give him credit where credit is due.

What foreign relations experience does he have?

I like his business background.

Secretary of State is too important a job to use as a consolation prize for the intra-party opposition, which is how we got Secretary Clinton.

I like Rand for this one too.

He ran a major Presidential campaign based in large part on foreign policy. He's dealt extensively with a contentious international NGO. He's spent a lifetime in domestic and international business dealings. He's also got the demeanor and intellectual abilities I'd like in a top diplomat.

I'll certainly accept that he's not a lifelong foreign policy guy. But he's much better set up for the job than some of the other people discussed (Newt, Rudy).

Mitt Romney is a quitter and a reason I voted for Trump. I'll melt if he is SOS.
