I don't believe ISIS will take Baghdad while holding what they taken thus far. Fighting in Iraq and Syria has to have them spread fairly thin.

If you think the Iraqi army is a professional army then you're the idiot. Most of the Iraqi soldiers whom we trained either threw down their arms and ran away, or they threw down their arms and surrendered/joined up with ISIS.

I'm certain they are growing. Releasing Sunni prisoners is a great recruiting tool. Regardless, its always difficult to fight on two fronts and hold seized ground.

So we basically wasted several thousand lives and trillions of dollars in that country over about a decade. Americans fighting and dying for nothing.

You are also forgetting ISIS isn't in this alone. They have the old Saddam loyalist. Part of the reason they were able to tear through the north so fast was because of them.

We spend about the same on entitlements in a single year as we did on the entire Iraq war. Quit bitching about the monetary costs. It was a drop in the bucket when compared to normal federal spending.

Where is this "trillion" number coming from? Do you have anything to back that up?

Yep, to their great discredit. Everybody was scared to death of being labeled unpatriotic, so they didn't do their due diligence, and followed along over the cliff like lemmings.

CNN said this morning it was $777 billion in Iraq. That did not include Afghanistan.

Yeah because sitting on our asses and doing next to nothing in dealing with mounting threats during the Clinton years worked out so well for us on 9/11.

It's like a real life war movie.
