BAGHDAD (AP) — Islamic militants who seized cities and towns vowed Thursday to march on Baghdad to settle old scores, joined by Saddam Hussein-era loyalists and other disaffected Sunnis capitalizing on the government's political paralysis over the biggest threat to Iraq's stability since the U.S. withdrawal.

Trumpeting their victory, the militants also declared they would impose Shariah law in Mosul and other areas they have captured.

This is not our country's problem.

Good luck to Iraq.

It is if the evil empire that borders Iraq to the east uses this moment to increase its power in the region.

Let the UN deal with it.

Maybe the terrorist army will march into Iran.

The Sunnis are a minority in Iraq, and especially in the south. They're not taking Baghdad. This breathless fearmongering is designed to pull us back into that hellhole.

We already did that for them. The reason Saddam acted like he had WMDs was to seem powerful to Iran.

iran is much more likely to end up going to war with ISIS, which would benefit the US

The Iraqi military actually pushed the militants back a little ways yesterday and today.

Malaki is basically saying screw the soldiers the U.S. helped them train and is calling up citizen soldiers to defend their country from ISIS.

They are fighting better than the soldiers the U.S. army helped train.

Iran is more likely to help Iraq in this particular case than they are to invade Iraq to take advantage of the situation. They have already gone on record saying they would help the Iraqis if they asked for it. ISIS is a thorn in both Iraq and Iran's side. Neutralizing that organization would be to the region's benefit.

You would love to think that wouldn't you. If you think a bunch of scrubs could just pick up a weapon and fight better than professional soldiers you're an idiot.

It is interesting.

I still have ISIS a slight underdog.

Anything can happen if the Iraqi home guard comes
out hardcore style. I see it going down to the last bullet and rock. No holds barred. Only Allah knows.

Iraq needs to bust some heads. We'll see.

malaki got rid of the decent officers and soldiers we helped train if they didn't line up politically or religiously with him.

I didn't say it wasn't... But its pretty fricking sick to say you enjoy whats happening over there, because its not just Radical vs Radical. There are a ton of innocent people who are simply caught up in the middle of it and decapitated for not being pro-ISIS
