I get the journalists being PC but the actual leagues? Franchise owners are generally old white money.
There's many parts, but I think some of it is that many people haven't figured out that social media doesn't represent society as a whole necessarily.
The human brain sees 10,000 twitter messages telling you to resign or whatever, and it makes you feel like the majority is against you, and that might not be the case. I think eventually people will understand that and take a broader perspective of "online outrage" but right now people are still figuring it out.
