Leonard Leo just said they are hearing that 7 Democrats said they will not vote to filibuster. I hope that is true.

I bet Merrick Garland agrees.

So if true, the GOP needs one more? It's a lot easier to be the eighth than the first. Once the Dems lost one the opposition was doomed.

That would be the absolute dumbest thing the GOP could do. Therefore, I, afraid you might be correct.

You think the left is whiny now? Trump hasn't been in office for 2 full weeks yet. If he continues to do as he promised, it's going to be a nonstop temper tantrum straight to November 2018. We are going to see the most motivated Dem base in recent midterm memory.

The GOP has 2 years to get the tough stuff done. If they don't, they will face an energized left and disappointed right come November 2018 and they might not come out the winner.

Bottom line - when you get the chance to make a SC nomination, you do it. You definitely don't gamble on a midterm election impacting the outcome.

The Republicans will not wait till after the midterms to use the nuclear option. Trump was elected to appoint this sort to the Court. People want action, not more pusillanimous politicians from the Right.

If not enough Democrats vote to confirm with 60 total votes, rules will be changed to allow simple majority and it will be done fast.

Yep. Thank you, Harry Reid.
