Maybe not from that exchange but when taken with everything else he said and has done, it's easy to see that's what he is about. And I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing, as he is just like any other politician, and this is a dream opportunity for any House Republican to be on this committee, much less lead it. Roles reversed I'd say the same about the Democrats. It's what politics has devolved into these days.

No, but who said this is a non-partisan investigation? Please point out to me the past instances where a Congressional committee was non-partisan.

So, you don't believe him when he said his investigation will transcend politics. Good.

Now will you believe any conclusions he draws from his "investigation", and why should you?

I don't believe anything done by politicians transcend politics. I don't believe criminal investigations transcend politics, but I believe the conclusions drawn from those investigations. Why should I feel any different about any investigation that is conducted in a manner that permits me to view the evidence from which the conclusions are drawn?

Nowhere, but given the way Issa conducted his many investigations and withheld documents from Cummings and other Democrats, I can see why Democrats are suspect of how Gowdy will conduct his committee. In the end though, it's just politics and messaging. Democrats want to get the message out there that it's going to be a partisan investigation, and Republicans want to get the message out that it will be a non-partisan investigation.

I personally transcribed what I heard from the video I linked.

Your complete statement only confirms that I was correct in my assessment: he wants to exclude Democrats from questioning witnesses.

I just read the article. No where does it say that Republicans would exclude Democrats from questioning. Democrats asked to not be excluded and Gowdy agrees.

I'm not sure what the issue is here (other than the subpoenas.)

Becerra's list are of exclusions, Gowdy says "how does it benefit him" to exclude.

So a comment by a Democrat is your evidence of Republican intentions. A comment that the Democrat provided no evidence to support.

Don't you have any shame when you take a partisan statement and attempt to use it to claim others won't be non-partisan? It is hypocrisy that there are different rules for you, your causes, and those who disagree with you, or your causes.

Bzzzzzzzzzzzt. Wrong.

WALLACE: Congressman Gowdy, is it reasonable for Democrats to demand some say in how the Committee is run?

GOWDY: No sir, ... imagine you and I starting an investigation, and the first thing you ask for is the ability to deny or veto subpoenas going to witnesses. How can it be a pursuit of the truth?

Quit jumping around the place Rex. You took the "How does it benefit me" statement an misrepresented it. Believe what you want.

I must get back to my 6 figure job now to pay for the 47%. Good day Sir! Continue living your lie!
