Rex, this is pretty bad on your part. I watched this exchange. He spelled out exactly what he meant with his statement. However, you are trolling poorly. Get some rest and come back with a better effort.
BTW, have you ever researched Gowdy's history in the legal field as a prosecutor? He was very active in trying alternative methods such as drug courts and special programs for single moms who have addictions. Several awards for doing a good job above and beyond.
In short, GET A frickING GRIP GERALD!

No, I don't think you do.
That's the point of the OP, right?

I like your troll threads, Rex, but this is a reach. Bring it back to more defensible positions.

No, I don't think you believe him when he said he will transcend politics.

You are clearly struggling Rex.

Rex has to be the biggest glutton for punishment i've ever seen. he gets his arse handed to him on this board on a daily basis and he just keeps coming back for more.

Not one recipe in this thread yet guys, what's the deal? Only reason I click on these threads.

I'm not interested in getting attaboys from this crowd. It doesn't serve the cause of truth to throw occasional bones just to pretend you're some sort of moderate.
My depiction of that exchange is right on the money. Have you noticed that no one has seriously attempted to answer my question?
If this is a non-partisan investigation is it proper to discriminate against Democrats by excluding them from questioning the witnesses? Gowdy says it doesn't benefit himself to do so.

You're right. So what do YOU see?

I personally transcribed Gowdy's comment when watching the video, then linked the video.
This is NOT what he said:
eta: This matter CAN ALL BE SETTLED if Trey Gowdy just makes an explicit, unequivocal statement that Democrats will be allowed to participate in the witness selection, witness questioning, subpoena, and document review processes.
This is NOT what he said:
quote:
“How does it benefit me when from Day One they’re excluded?” he asked. “I want this to transcend politics.”

ingredients
1/2 lb extra-sharp Vermont white Cheddar
1/2 lb extra-sharp aged New York (orange) Cheddar
1 (7-oz) jar pimentos, drained and finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
cayenne to taste
2/3 cup mayonnaise
preparation
Finely grate cheeses into a large bowl. Stir in pimentos, black pepper, cayenne, and salt to taste with a fork. Then stir in mayonnaise, mashing mixture with fork until relatively smooth. (It should be flecked with small pieces of pimento.)
Scrape spread into a crock or jar and chill, covered, at least 2 hours to allow flavors to develop.
Serve pimento cheese with crackers or use as a filling for finger sandwiches.

That's more like it, thanks.

quote:No, but who said this is a non-partisan investigation? Please point out to me the past instances where a Congressional committee was non-partisan. Who were the co-chairs from different parties? What evidence do you have that the Democrats will be discriminated against in a manner that minority party members haven't in the past?
If this is a non-partisan investigation is it proper to discriminate against Democrats by excluding them from questioning the witnesses? Yes or No?
I will remind you that the investigation is a future event. Speculation about discrimination is just that speculation. Has the House made new rules specific to this committee that treat the minority members differently than minority members have been treated in the past? If not, then shouldn't you be criticizing every House investigation conducted under the same rules?
Serving on committees is not a right. It is a privilege. If anyone chooses not to avail themselves of a privilege they have no cause to complain about how others use that same privilege.

If you like your policy, you can keep it!
Can I get a deconstruction of this obvious Freudian slip?
