How convenient that Trump fires the man leading an investigation into him

Nothing to see here right? 
The optics of this are beyond horrible. The one good thing out of this is that it will reinforce the perception of everyone that's not an illiterate Trumpkin that Trump is totally corrupt.
Have we ever seen worse optics than this with a presidential firing? I can't seem to recall one. Help me out here.
