What does the "L" stand for?

LOSS, as in, I just dunked on that guy and he took the L

it was 10 below zero his morning and wind and solar are working. michigan is better than texas.

Thank you. Been trying to find that out all day!

Listen I don’t expect any Texans to have a snow blower and all weather tires, but if you wanna have an independent energy infrastructure, maybe the Texas government should’ve thought about worst case scenarios.
So I guess every single building should be built to protect itself against prolonged freezing, hurricanes, fire, tornadoes, earthquakes, tsunamis, etc regardless of where they are located then?
I mean, you never know... maybe a hurricane will make its way to Kansas. Or Baton Rouge will get rocked by a massive earthquake.
OR you can be reasonable and protect yourself against what typical threats happen in your geographic region.

Texas fricked up. The government didn’t plan or prepare well enough. Learn from the mistake and be a man, instead of trying to shift blame like a wuss.
This whole blame game that takes 10 seconds to debunk is pathetic.

And I’m sure the buildings in Michigan are up to code to go against a direct hit from a category 5 hurricane huh?
The only reason your old arse stays in the frozen wastes that is Michigan is because your body would fail in the warmth. You need the cold to survive gramps. Now tell the orderly it’s time for a diaper change

Absolutely correct. The story should be a 1 in a 1000 event happened and we didn’t plan for it, because it is friggin 1 in a 1000.
Except some are trying to throw blame anywhere they can to provide cover for a smart business decision because they might have to explain their decision.

doesn't look like all the buildings in texas and la. were up to code either. i've got 47 golf courses within 1 hour of my house, thats 1 reason.

They held up better than the buildings in Michigan would. Stop being obtuse, I know it’s hard when you can’t function on your own.
You are subhuman. Like always.

we have ice storms and blizzards which you folks can't handle. each area has their own problems. get over yourself.

Exactly my point you old frick. Why would Texas protect itself against a multi day ice storm that NEVER happens?
Just like why would Baton Rouge protect itself against a tsunami.
Just like why would Michigan protect itself against a hurricane.
Congratulations. You caught up.

The every 40 years ice storm scenario?

New York high rises are built to protect from hurricanes just like the high rises in Miami eh?

Of course not. But Texas officials are not speaking truthfully.
The equivalent right now though is a Category 5 hitting NYC and them blaming fracking why the buildings got damaged.
The power problems are not because of wind or solar. It is because a completely fluke event happened and they didn’t prepare for it.

Not exactly as fracking has zero to do with the problems the hurricane caused in that hypothetical.
The problems at hand in Texas are absolutely related to the cold.
Now, the cold affected green energy like wind and solar more than it did other forms of electricity and had Texas had the infrastructure set up like places that receive this type of cold weather it probably wouldn’t have been affected as much.
In truth, the issue re: electricity in America has more to do with pussies being scared of the near limitless power we could receive via nuclear power, which, as the data in Texas shows, had absolutely ZERO fluctuation due to the cold where as every other version did.
We could easily have enough electricity for everyone to run every damn appliance and light year round without issue. We could make every street be lit up in neon and flashing lights. But nuclear baddddddd

Why are you taking my statement COMPLETELY out of context? Texas has been hit by freezes before and has its energy infrastructure rocked. If you aren’t going to be connected to the national infrastructure you have to naturally take more precautions. Especially if they are simple precautions like insulating natural gas pipes.
Texas has to worry about freezes, because well it happens there and it’s going to happen again. Baton Rogue doesn’t have to worry about volcanos.
