Sure, they all say that Lee was despised and his contemporaries wanted to shame him, so they created Arlington National Cemetery.

Color me shocked. BitchATL still quite unInformed on the subject. Pre war memoirs as well as post war memoirs say the exact opposite. But hey, you got it! You don't talk nice about your opponents you're actively fighting!

Also, military accomplishments? Uhhhhhh let's see... Mexican American war? Winning several battles during the Civil War he should have lost? But hey. I'd expect nothing less from bitchATL.

Damn bitchATL. Quick on that downvote eh slut?

You're claiming you're some sort of scholar on the subject, yet you don't even know about why Arlington is no longer Lee's plantation? Still?!

Never claimed to be a scholar on the subject. Just bitchATL putting words in my mouth. I am, however, much more informed than your bitch arse on the subject.

I've read countless first hand memoirs. You have not. Your only "gotcha" is omg they turned his plantation into a cemetery! Like that's some big gotcha. And it isn't. They immortilized his house as a place of honor and ensured it's survival for the rest of our days. If they hated him as you so declare, they would have killed him after the war. You know, the punishment for treason. And razed his land and turned it into Greenspace.

You're quite literally ignorant on the subject and it is laughable that you attempt to sound knowledgeable about this subject.

"I have read many books on this" - your words

There it is!!

They literally created a mass grave in his wife's rose garden so that his house would be uninhabitable. They went further than salting the earth - they turned it into sacred ground that no man could ever own.

It's not a surprise that you don't realize how wrong you are on this, since the disillusion of Confederate sympathizers knows no bounds.

I have. And scholars have read and written many more than I have. Reading a lot of books =/= a scholar on the subject.

Graves make a home uninhabitable? That's a new one.

Uh no. They bought the land and won't sell it. That doesn't make it uninhabitable.

Your ignorance knows no bounds.
