This is disturbing actually. Our electoral college system should be followed as it was intended and this shows a lack of respect for the system. I hope this will not trend in future elections

Should we not expect to see a better screening system and a more airtight agreement with regard to the elector selection process in the future.
Activists need not be placed in those roles.

Agreed. It's probably one of the unintended consequences of Donald J Trump. I said a long time ago I was prepared to eat some crap sandwiches in order to get someone in office who would at least attempt to get things done.

All this talk about forcing the electors to vote for so and so would mean we dont get the benefit of having a buffer against the mob.

They can just all abstain. If you go back and read what the framers intended, they never intended the electors having the ability to overturn an election. You take a lot out of context if you choose to believe what has been written about this recently.
And if Hillary had won, as much as I viewed her as a threat, I wouldn't want electors overturning that either.

Celtic Dog...I am fully informed and understand that the electoral college is a fail safe step in the process but when electors start voting for "Faith Spotted Eagle" and the such, then they are just making a farce of the system and not acting in the faith of our founding fathers intentions.
