But you just acknowledged that my view is just as likely as your view. So you in essence believe there could be another explanation. Thats alot different than "there is no other explanation." Your confusing me now

It was worded poorly, I'm having this discussion in a restaurant.

I'm right and brilliant you're wrong and silly. Better?

People like you are a fricking joke. "Maybe they interviewed better than you. "Maybe they had an amazing personal statement." Yeah maybe. Or maybe they got in because they are black. I liked the black students in my medical school class. Some of them very intelligent, but several made me wonder if the quality of my degree was getting watered down.

Dude I'm totally dyslexic. I definitely read that wrong and thought you were complementing me and not yourself.

Well with that being said, I take back my 2

Very possible.

Also possible.

I can say this same thing about some of the white, Indian, Asian, and black people in my class.

You said you'd mind losing a job to an unqualified black. Would you mind losing a job to an unqualified white woman? Because it is white women who benefit from AA.

Affirmative action exists because white people are in charge, and they like to give jobs to their friends...folks who tend to be white.

The Supreme Court has long held that you can't follow a "point or quota" system for racial means of admission.

Here's the problem -- it was called a quota and the Supreme Court said that colleges couldn't have quotas.

So, they just changed the name to Affirmative Action - where race could "be considered" in the same way that growing up on a farm could "be considered". MIRACULOUSLY, and lo and behold, these colleges just so happened to come out with the same numbers as the quota system.

So, some courts came out against Affirmative Action because it was clearly just another name for quota systems and instead of being "A factor" it was almost always "THE factor".

So, these colleges got together in the early '90's and just changed the name of "Affirmative Action" to "Diversity". They did nothing to change the programs -- you know, like look at a persons socio-economic background instead of JUST his/her RACE. And, in a true MIRACLE that even God couldn't explain, it just so happened that they got the same numbers as the quota and AA systems.

All it is, and all it has been, is PURE state-sponsored discrimination by 3 different names. And, it never helps the truly disadvantaged as it's wealthy and middle class blacks that take advantage of these token spots. And, the beauty for the liberal academics is that they get to pat themselves on the back, telling themselves how great and nonracist they are for instituting these lower standards for middle class and wealthy blacks, all the while never having to really deal with the true inner city poor blacks in our society.

And, in true liberal fashion, realizing that these kids aren't capable of competing against students who deserve to be there, they literally created bullsh!t and bogus degree programs -- like African-American Studies -- so that they can make sure these nonqualified applicants can get a degree without having to meet the rigorous academic requirements of the real students.

And, they still think that they're not racist.

That isn't what affirmative action is. But that is what a lot of white failures think it is.

OP claimed AA means a black guy who is half as qualified as a white guy gets the job.

I would challenge you to find an affirmative action policy that actually states that.

The "Rooney Rule" - for instance - is affirmative action. It makes no requirement that less qualified black candidates get the job. Its more about access. You have to be well aware that basically everything in life still runs on the good ole boy system. AA - at least in the modern sense - is about access to that system - not preferential treatment.

I think the Rooney Rule is crap, how many times have we already known who a team was hiring but they had to call in a black coach just so they officially interviewed him
